What the hell is wrong with these news agencies. Talk about hype. Get your affairs in order for an astroid that is 150 feet across.:rolleyes:

I forgot the source (will try to find) but it went something like this:

150 foot wide... that might really fuck up your day if it hits a populated city. no worries though, I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery.

~500 feet and you are looking at totaling a full state (pending speed, angle, etc).

over a mile and you should really be worried.

I guess I had better go find some women and have some affairs, so I can keep them in order.

If it hits it hits, not much we can do about it, unless we all get our lasers out and lase it at the same time.

I figured it was either lase it or get a big bunch of helium ba1100ns and turn them loose so they will slow it down for a nice soft landing.

Considering the enormous distance this object is traveling a slight nudge would alter its trajectory enough to make it wander harmlessly toward some other unpopulated object.

While 150ft is kinda small it is definitely big enough to cause some serious boo-boos and owies.

Personally, I think it is actually an alien space craft from a distant star system. They are probably coming back to check on the Mayans, Egyptians, and *Mormons.

*Google Kolob (an open mind, cultural relativism, and a sense of humor recommended)

Yah, all hot air and no mettle. Media likes to hype everything as much as they can, nothing new. I'd have hated to have had a newscaster for a parent... imagine them hyping your presents and then comes the big day and you get a book or a pair of socks.

When your time is up, it's up. There's no use in denying that day will come. Best to have made your time worth it.
