Weapon to reach out of atmosphere?

I just want people's opinion on what type of weapon this might be?
This is above earth btw. What would you need to go out of the atmosphere like that? Definitely not a laser since it looks like a "missile" projectile type shot.

It starts at :15 seconds, upper left. The "projectile" can be seen at :18-19 . Nice dodge by whatever they were firing at.

Don't know, but I've watched that video several times over the last couple of years. Interesting.

Looks like a red or blue sprite of some sort from a Thunderstorm high up..
There are several blue jets seen in the left corner shortly before that "unknown object" changes its heading.
I believe I have seen this footage before from the ISS severe weather observatory.



This picture shows a high energy Blue Jet extending some 50-80Km into the ionosphere.


This is a night vision look at a red sprites.

There are plenty missiles that can reach up high enough to take out satellites, but I'm inclined to believe it's a high altitude electrical phenomenon like Seol_lasers suggests.

There are lots of Youtube videos about that with out of this world speculations.

To me it looks like some reflective dust particle close to the
camera lens.

Oh boy! My recollection of this video is very old. I think this is video taken when the space shuttle was in operation. I think Fox showed this purported video claiming it proof of aliens at about the same time they broadcast the "Alien Autopsy documentary" It's not a weapon. It's nearby debris highlighted by sunlight. The reason you see this debris suddenly change direction is do as I recall again a shuttle reaction jet being fired.

This black and white video we are looking at is taken well above the Earth's atmosphere where this type of electrical occurrence cannot reach. This black and white video does not show weather caused electrical phenomena.

Simply untrue. Steve001.
Electrical occurrences extend well beyond just the Atmosphere. It's been proven time after time that charges do in fact DO extend up to into the ionosphere.

The video in the youtube link explains this.

I myself have witnessed (red sprites..not sure what to call them) flying beside a tropical cyclone in Thailand (we were about 100Km to the East coming into BKK) ~4 years ago.
These huge stray electrical charges have also been detected on the ISS.

You made me remember that same broadcast quite a while
ago and that was the conclusion that was presented.. I think
by NASA. (Video of the OP)

Doesn't matter to me, fingers in ears, eyes closed.... nah nah.... I don't hear you, or see what you write.... I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I have no doubts in an alien presence from time to time myself, but regarding this video, I don't know... might be some natural phenomena, I've never made judgment on it.

It's disheartening that no matter how often the real truth of such occurrences are explained they get consumed by untruths ready for a new generation of naive young people to discover via social media and the plethora of websites that are run by people that believe weird things, etc.

Yea, too much of that goes on, but truth is stranger than fiction. There are many truths that are unacceptable to people, educated or not, cognitive dissonance can be very painful. It is unfortunate.

I often visit The International Skeptics forum. There are a few members that espouse contrary points of view and no matter how many examples are brought to their attention they are wrong they still hold to their contrary views. There are many sites that cater specifically to all manner of contrary views, such as Cluesforum, Scepcop, Watts up.

Wanting to believe -anything- is a bad start in most cases.

The only proper way of going about things is observing them and analysing the results, preferably by many people.

Also accepting that there are some things we simply do not fully understand yet helps.

This is especially true of things that we do not commonly encounter. Lightning for example is pretty rare to see up close and personal (and be able to tell about that). Obviously we can create something very similar to it in effect (using high voltage devices), but that in itself does not explain how lightning forms in nature.

Lightning is pretty amazing, but most people rougly agree on how it works. Some people see it most days of the years, many only a few times a year, and probably some people never see it in their lifetime.

To people that rarely encounter it, something can be magical, unimaginable even.

Try explaining something like hail to someone that lived in indonesia his entire life. Things like rain, lightning and such are familiar to them. Something like hail is not, to the point that there isn't even a word for the phenomenon in the local language.

The best translation is literally "it rains ice cubes" (hujan es batu). I reckon few people believe that this is an actual and fairly common thing in europe or northern america. On the other hand they are familiar with snow, the white stuff that to them sits only on tall mountains. There is a proper world for it (salju), though few to no people have actually see that fall either.
