Oh, I saw Astrophysicist Dr. Tyson talk about this asteroid!

Always a pleasure to listen to Neil Degrasse Tyson, even if it's about the end of the world:

150 feet wide is definitely enough to destroy "large... tracts of land!"

Kinetic Energy:

1/2* mv^2

Kinetic energy of a moving object is much more dependent on the objects velocity. Not so much its size/mass.

It would all depend on how fast it came in. But really, 150 feet might become something more like 50ft after burning up and slowing down in the atmosphere.

Watch my videos of Neil Degrasse Tyson, he talks about how this asteroid can devastate the entire west coast of North America. It is not just the size. It is also where it will hit. And the atmosphere can't burn a 150 feet rock to 50 ft. We don't have an atmosphere of Jupiter here my friend lool.

Well I'll be damn. This is way to close for comfort. This is assuming the math is right on it's trajectory. We can easily be toast with this one:(!
