I don't think there is any powder on eBay, just turnings and bars of it. The turnings ignite pretty easily when heated with a propane torch. They burn slowly but it is still blindingly bright!

So are these 50/50 magnalium, like in some pyrotechnic compositions?

Not sure if they are 50/50, but they do look like MgAl. Again it would probably be cheaper just to buy plain old MgAl powder.
