Just got back from Barrow, Alaska, one hop to Anchorage and my iPhone charger stolen out of my suit case... TSA left a note they were in there, so who is the most likely to have done it?

Why only steal a charger when they can take everything?... Jokes.
I know the pain of not having a charger.

Why would they possibly want to take the charger?

I don't see why someone would risk their job over a \$2 theft, and then give you a clue.(although being an apple product, maybe they charge \$50? I dunno). It appears more likely that you've misplaced it. Even if you're 100% sure you didn't misplace it, I wouldn't suspect theft - perhaps it fell out during inspection or if they (or you) didn't zip the bag perfectly.

While theft by TSA and baggage inspectors is really nothing new, I can't see them stealing a charger. Of course stranger things have happened.

Personally I travel with all of my electronics in carry on, and address the charger issue by using a charging hub, cables plugged into it, and a power strip. I see four port charges on sale for as little as \$10 on a fairly regular basis, and good usb cables for ~\$8 per 5 pack. You would probably pay a bit more for the iphone cables.

TSA and baggage handlers steal all the time. I don't know if the charger is the same as the iPad but I recently bought a new one and I think it was \$25, and they can be used with other devices because the USB to Apple cable is separate and plugs into the charger.
