Thoughts on this flashlight?

Ok, I'm in the military. I need a kickass flashlight. I want something with the output of a low end HID, but without the size. Battery life should be about an hour with rechargeables. Filters are a must. Price.... really isn't too much of a factor, I'd like it to be ~$200 or less.

I've found this.

Thoughts? I would get the one off of DX though because it comes with a charger and filters and whatnot for $199.

First of all, with all this talk of 900lm P7's, 3500lm and 5200lm HID's and whatnot, your humble 200lm R2 or Q5 seems somewhat pathetic. If you don't have one though, you'd be surprised by how bright it is... I reckon any P7 would serve your needs at any rate. Have a look on DX and find one with good reviews. That Aurora AK-P7 1x18650 got a good review...

If you want to go high-end, ElektroLumens makes some kickass flashlights.

They'll mod a Mag with a P7 if you want (~900lm, $130), they make a 7xP4 light (1400lm  ) and the WALL OF FIRE WITH A CRAZY 900lm!

If you don't like the size of the Wall Of Fire get him to shorten it to 2D and use a 2D-to-6AA adapter - tada! Use e2 lithiums for maximum ownage.

For a bit more he can make it run off 18650's, make it a C-battery size, whatever you want. He's flexible. CandlePowerForums approved =P Give him an email, eh?

IMO you should avoid xenon if you're looking for good runtime and bulb life. You can try one of the wolf-eyes p7's if you want. I have the 2x 18650 p7 from wolf-eyes and at 620 lumens it easily lights up an area. Also it can be left on for 15 minutes before it starts getting hot while the cheaper dx p7's like to overheat after a few minutes.

Get a microfire from 4sevens.com if you want a more affordable HID flashlight. With the CPF discount code it's cheaper than dx and they have much faster free shipping.
