Vic-I should have known it was your CMs name-and should have guessed that you were so kind as to rescue the gator- much props to you!! I'd love to see a photo of your rhino vip. they (and Gaboon Vips)are SO fine looking!! Too bad the bite is not so good- I stupidly let a 5 day old pigmy rattlesnake nip me on the back of a finger at work one day and was lucky it was either a dry bite or nearly so.. He was about as big as an earthworm so I knew it could not be much of a bite-just a little swelling and almost no pain--- I really do not consider it as a legit bite. Just a warning to me to be super careful from that day on. Be safe friend-- Hak

What do i think of your Rhino?--about as exotic as one can get. I always thought the arrow on their heads was natures way of saying 'go away' & 'get back'. The last venomous snake I kept(14 months) was a 25 inch Texas Coral--not really a 'dangerous' snake- mostly misunderstood. Main problem was catching enough live food for her. We have lots of carolina anoles and geckos here, but they apparently are not on the diet. I had to find night skinks and ring-neck snakes to keep her alive but in the end I failed. I live 4 miles from (Jones Creek)where the record coral was found many years ago-48 INCHES!! thats a whole lotta coral snake. Ignorant idiots want to kill every coral they see==== so my guess is that they will be more or less extinct before too long. I hear that no one has been killed by a coral in the US since the introduction to anti-venom for corals. and also--this- a majority of folks bitten by US pit vipers were trying to catch, mess with or kill the snake that got them--instant Karma !! WE have a lot more to fear from drunk drivers than snakes. IMO peace HAK---------- PS Bearded Dragons are the coolest!! And yours lay eggs too!! You must be doing right by them.
