Edit: You know, there are members who don't mind this kind of thread but others who see it as complete lunacy, I myself have been guilty of posting UFO stuff and received quite a lot of negs before, even if posted here in this section. I'm surprised the guys who complained about it before are being so tolerant of this subject now, but at the same time, I don't think it's well accepted here. Just a note, not a complaint. For myself the subject fascinates me to no end, but there isn't much meat to chew on here at LPF on this subject, a few members who will discuss it, not many though. YouTube is the place to find information on this stuff, although 2/3 of it is likely bunk, but the reports which are'nt, in my mind at least, are very interesting.
ALL OF THAT SAID, KEEP ADDING TO THE THREAD! I don't mind musing on the subject and those who don't like it don't need to open it.

One of the best places for info and news on this subject are the many radio shows that cover this subject, there are a number of shows that only cover this subject, check out the shows on:

I started listening to Art Bell back about 1990, he was on the air again just recently for several months but he had to retire again because someone was trying to kill him or at least trying to get him off the air. So he retired for the safety of his family.

Yeah I heard that too. Geez. Maybe they gave him at least a few million bucks for his trouble.
One of the reasons I got into lasers is for the scifi excitement of it. Lasers kinda make me feel like I have something from the future. It's real and in my hands. Just an amazing feeling.

I doubt it very much, he and his family were threatened by phone, his studio was shot at twice, and someone took a shot at him outside one day.
Me too, every since 1970 when I found out lasers are real and you could buy one then I wanted one. Back then they were only gas lasers and cost thousands so it took me quite a few years but now I have some great lasers.

i think that aliens could very possibly be here just to research us, see what we're like, and if they like us, they'll say hi, but if they don't (which they probably don't) they'll just leave. there is no reason to believe they would kill billions of other life forms just to have a planet, when there are billions of perfectly fine planets that are not inhabited. its safe to assume they have morals, and would not wish to kill things, otherwise they would have killed themselves off before they could achieve advanced technology, and therefore the ones that are able to visit other star systems are likely very advanced, unhindered by the problems that plague human scientific advancement.
Its an interesting thought that the governments and militaries of the world have such super-advanced technology but i find it very unlikely. the new physics required for such things would be discovered by universities, and therefore be publically available (most likely).

Billions of dollars have disappeared into the black budget hole, I imagine if the funds were available, and there were indeed crashed alien craft at hand to be reverse engineered, we could have something the universities aren't privy too, technology beyond the mainstream we wouldn't have advanced ourselves enough to build yet, unless you had something many thousands of years beyond our technology to duplicate, that is. Reverse engineering something that advanced would be quite the challenge.

I agree. I suspect a big problem we would also have is to be able to manufacture whatever new technology was found to reproduce it. It's like someone in the 1800's finding a solid state device from our present (for that matter someone in the early 1900's) and then being able to build/make another device. Finding out what 'it' does and even being able to make 'it' do it for you is one thing but making another one can be quite another thing.

Lol i was thinking the same thing on your level. Meaning I realize everyone has thought of that scenario but what to leave. Bringing an I phone that rely on a satelite is way to advanced, so I thought of bringing a simple 1981 Chevy Chevette. It has a motor not at all super advanced but enough to show an internal combustion engine with over head valves, hydraulic disc brakes, and a very very simple computer system that I have heard was 1 million times more powerful than the Apollo 11. I would also make it that it had a full tank of todays lead free higher octane gas. Maby this would be the medium to advance and learn from. Im wondering what other members would bring back to the 1800,s
