Cool!

I plan to use these MOT caps. I really don't care if they "explode violently" I just really want a running Tesla coil.

I'm going to buy a TON of those cornel capacitors and some 10M OHM resistors.

I also plan to either use DUAL MOTS or dual NST's. I'll probably buy these in the next few weeks.

I will be quenching my SG with a Casio fan running at full speed. I do also have a universal motor here for a rotary spark gap. I'm not sure if I will use it... but I have one for that purpose if need be.

I'd like to thank everyone for all of your help! I thought this would be a "bit" easier. Turns out I was wrong though bits not much harder than I thought. There are just a few more things I didn't know about.

Here's the cap I will be using for the top. I was looking for a cap and found this! Its a PVC test cap!

One question though. Why do people use multiple spark gaps?

No mot caps, unless you are secondary side ballasting your MOTs . In a pulse discharge format ,You'll destroy your transformers and cause an explosion.
CDE caps are THE answer.
Multiple spark gaps are used to cut down on the high temperatures and ware on the electrodes. Also good for tuning. A few reasons to do multiple spark gaps. All help performance.

Couldn't I just use titanium electrodes? I also have these 30kv rated doorknob capacitors. Could I use 4 of them in parallel? They are in the pico farad range.
