SenKat Status

Hey all - first off - any and all "orders" from my web store are still being processed, and shipped, etc so do not panic at that. I may take them completely off line here soon for a week or so, but we will see how it works out.

I have been spending some time with the family, and have not been as active lately on the forum, or IRC, Skype. etc. I have my big surgery coming up on December 6th and it has me a little bit freaked to be honest. Ya, ya, ya...not fishing for pity or anything, just letting you all know where I am coming from, and what is going on so none of you take it personally, thinking I am trying to avoid you, or whatever.

I am NOT trying to avoid anyone - there. Just spending a bit of time with the family, as my wife has a second job now, and I only see her for a few minutes each day, between her two jobs Anywho - still love the forum, still love the hobby, not retiring or anything, tough times is all, so I have been concentrating on family - thanks fopr your concerns, and well wishing, I appreciate it greatly

I WISH it was laser eye surgery

I am having spinal fusion done.....I will have titanium rods screwed into my spine to make it so that the L5 (Lumbar #5....the lowest one) vertabrae is completely stationary, and fused to the pelvic bone. It means short term ? 3-5 days inside the hospital recovering from the surgery...followed by LOTS of sleeping when I get home (hopefully ! LOL) and even more pain meds for a little while Not looking forward to he immediate short term after effects

The long term results ? Well - now THAT is GREAT ! I will be OUT OF PAIN ! I will only be losing 3-7% mobility, and hte bones will not be grinding on each other any longer ! Anywho, long story short, I will actually heal - and be able to walk without a cane (eventually !!!) or without being forced into a wheelchair !!! I am VERY happy regarding the long term outlook Just a little nervous - and I have not smoked in over 4 weeks now.....THAT SUCKS ! LOL

damn that sounds painful! :-/ But it also sounds like the benefits will far outweigh the nasty week or two of recovery. Enjoy the free pain meds while there there man! ;D
