I don't see any problems with people being allowed to celebrate their religions' holidays at school. As long as all religions (or lack of) have equal rights to celebrate, no one particular belief (or lack of) is officially promoted, religions don't interfere with each other, and no one is forced to participate in any of the activities. That's basically how it was at my high school. There were events for Christmas, Easter, Ramadan, Hanukkah, etc. Muslims has an Imam come for Jumu'ah Prayers, Christians had a Pastor available, most religions had clubs set up for members. No who was not interested ever had to participate in any of it and there were never any problems or conflicts.

in the bible contradicts itself so much i have no clue how people decide what to believe. at some points it says stone gays others it says love and accept everyone. just my 2cents

Then you've never actually read it.

You don't understand context, whose the writers were, and who the original audiences were.

If you're going to be critical of any book, you have to have read it and understand it first.

i have not read the entire new testament i have read the old testament but look i really dont want to get into a religious fight. i dont understand why it says if a man lies with another man he shall be stoned. and then jesus says you should love everyone.

I'm just speaking for any book. You have to have read the whole thing. And sometimes, that's not enough. Studying it through and through is when you understand a literary work. And to Dave, that might be an understatement. ;)

Maybe because you nor Rick Perry understand what the Bible is about?

Gays in the military are still men willing to serve the country. So are thieves, gamblers, liars, and adulterers.. just like me.

:tsk: dont use those words ;) i agree obviously.. i dont get who the hell people think they are telling gays or anyone alse what they cant do because of something thats none of there business. why the FLYING F:)CK should i give a damn if a gay man joins the military or gets married. but i also hate ideas like obama care..........

lol giorge i have heard the new guys get treated badly cause they "dont get it" you have to be corrupt soon

I must chime in about "obamacare" I think the US desperately needs some sort of a socialized system as I see so called "teachers" coming over to my part of the world (Korea) in search of cheap medical services. Yes, it's dirt cheap here and of reasonable quality. The unsightly poor health of some of these people coming over from especially the S.Eastern US states is quite surprising and reminds me of some 3rd world countries. They can't afford the insane prices of a basic check up or dental. Something obviously needs to be done, and the attitude I hear specially from the so called right wing is to me totally disgusting. EVERYONE should have some sort of basic coverage, reason is simple. The health of others effects the greater population. I understand that it is expensive to have a socialized system, and in my home country of Canada, we can see the cost in the amount of taxes we pay, however, I think people are worth it. The current US model is NOT sustainable. I think a
2 tier system could work for the US and especially Canada.

I am trying to explain my views here. I hope the responses to my post will be constructive in nature.
