I just wanted to set up this post to show respect for any french members on this forum who have been affected by this terrible act of cruelty.

I just want to say, that just like the other attacks, people in the UK are thinking of you.

For anyone who didn't know, which is highly unlikely:link

Just like we did for Orlando event, I thought it would be nice idea if we did red, white and blue beam shots. Or red and blue if you don't have a RGB. My RGB has been taken apart.

An image I took the other day which I thought would be appropriate.

And I just tried to make a french flag by diffusing lasers through two laser cut slits. I then had to shine a torch up the centre, but it didn't go too well.

Also please keep this thread non-political, this has been posted to pay respect to the victims and not to cause debate. Thank you.

Sadly I am afraid this is just the beginning.
Here's 2, 1 wishing those in the hospital a speedy and full recovery and 1 wishing peace of mind to those who lost loved ones.

Sadly this is not the beginning but another attack in a series in france (at to some degree in western europe). Since we in holland share our flag colors with france i can only hope that the next one will not be here.

Indeed - this will not be the last one of such attacks sadly.

Europe has been plagued by them, and i'm affraid the US could face them too.

The worst thing we can let happen is to have this become a regular thing and just accept it, we must not let that happen.

My thoughts and prayers are with those killed and those many injured and their families and friends, everytime this happens many lives are permanently ruined.

We must not turn our backs on these events and think that just because everything is ok where you are you don't have to worry about it, that is not at all the case.

Vive la Liberté.

Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.

A quote from Victor Hugo “Servir la patrie est une moitié du devoir, servir l’humanité est l’autre moitié." (Serving the homeland is half of duty, serving humanity is the other half).

A quote from Pink Floyd kind of fits...

"On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden,
And the words they say
Which we won't understand.
Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others suffering,
Or you'll find that you're joining in
The turning away
!"

This song moves me every time I hear it.

I'm affraid that despite all good intentions and supporting reactions around the world this is the new reality in europe. We'll have to deal with islamic violence and have no way to really protect people against it, since the future perpetrators are already living amongst us in vast numbers and we realistically have to way to tell who they will be.

Thank you everyone for spreading kind word and respect to those involved. I am afraid that this is not over as well. Every time it happens in France it immediately invokes fear here in the UK. USA is fearing another 911 like attack, the UK is fearing another 7/7 or Lee Rigby styled attack and France is probably wondering when/what next. I'd thought I would share what is happening in my area lately, as if it is happening here, then I am worried it is happening everywhere.
Since the latest attack in France, it has started to cause chaos here. The most worrying of all is that the latest incidents have occurred too close to home. I am a volunteer technician at a college in Hornchurch, 5 mins away from Upminster station. Two days ago this happened. link and on the same day. link. Both of these have happened within home terriority, and the worst thing is the man that killed the soldier on the streets of London, attended the college I now volunteer at.
But this gives me the most concern. How stupid our media is in giving them ideas, especially old ideas. link I live in the outskirts, and my town provides easy commuters access to central London. We have also already had a foiled bomb threat in my town. As you can imagine this has lead to a lot of uneasiness.

Has anyone else started to notice an increase in activity? We can't let these people win. And I hope everyone here on this forum remains safe for the duration of this year as I fear deeply that another huge catastrophe is going to happen in the next two years.

No one should have to live with this violence. But I know what you mean, they have already infiltrated. I feel sorry for those countries that do not get publicised as they are not first world.

Yes it is, and I too hope for the best for France.

I think this has been well put and should be noted.
