Are we back to "normal" now? I was able to +5 REP 2 members.

I don't think so, it's 5 a day and 40 or 50 between repeating someone I think.

Have to get on the road for a doctors appointment so I haven't looked yet but can I see all the people I have repped?

So, put me down for as many votes as whatever we are randomly setting the limit too for "Revert to old system".
Notify every member who has voted that "You have already voted on this poll" is "flighty" at best and they can vote more than once.
Why stop there though. Lets keep all those banned member and 0 poster votes too.

This must be one of those things where everyone else is in on the joke....

It's still 5/50. The only option no one likes.

I would actually add a vote to tweak the system, and go with 1:1.

However, I'm seriously puzzled why we don't at least go back to the old system while the poll stays open... there is just the one category without a single vote.

"wet ear nibbles = yum"

LaserChick got a little too much time on your hands when writing this?

Forgive me for getting off topic, but do you have or can you get any 8X cylindrical pairs AR coated for the 450nm range, I have had great results with 6X but would like to try some 8X on the nubm44 to get it closer to perfect, Thanks.

*Short silence*... And Rohan will answer!

There are so far a very few limited series I'm always agreeable to watching;

Star Wars, 1-6, though 4-6 proffered strongly (f**k Darth Emo, and Jar Jar Abrams's last movie.).'
LOTR. (Not the Hobbit, though I like the movies, just not that much.)
The Matrix Trilogy. (You're required to supply at least some, uhm, mental aids.)
XMen.
Harry Potter, 4+ Earlier ones I just remember too well to enjoy properly.

So, uhm...

Sorry if this question has been covered, I'm just not finding it.

Can someone please explain the rationale in limiting the ability to give REP during a 24-hour period? When I logon, I'm usually on for a few hours and I run into this limit a lot.

The vbulletin system limits giving out rep to the same member, to at most, once every 24 hours.

The rationale behind this is to insure that members can't neg rep, or plus rep someone a lot, in order to quickly raise, or destroy their rep.

Currently the system is set to allow a maximum of 5 reps to be given out in a 24 hour period. After a rep is given you also must give rep to at least 50 other, different members, before you can give it to the same member again.

So it comes down to two numbers... how many reps can be given out in a day, and how many OTHER members you must rep before leaving rep to the same member again.

10:20 ratio we had before, meant you had to give out at least 20 reps to other members before you could give a rep to the same member before. 10 was the maximum amount of rep you could give out in a day period. Which meant in essence a minimum of a two day cool off period before another neg rep from a member, though in practical terms, very very few members ever reached even those limits. Alaskan ran through his as a matter of protest, deus ex machina style handing out +reps to any and all, meanwhile Cyparagon repped inactive members but to be able to leave neg reps. For the most part it all went unnoticed, until the recent trolls USAbro, Starkiller, and VisibleGreen, all three of whom did not respond well to seeing neg reps from multiple members.

That brings us to today... and hoping the trees start to bloom:shhh:

@ SyKo

What are you talking about?!?

I have not placed or added ANY tags to this thread.

I spend most of my time reading through posts to learn more and to help members. Not to falsely accuse them with rude comments. Especially veterans.

It appears that you are not able to see what the OP is when I wrote this.
It will be my utmost pleasure to help you out by posting it here again.

Hey folks,

I have been trying to give REP+ to members where and when it is deserved and it just is not allowed since the ruckus several weeks ago.
I have had to resort to just giving out REP+ when and where ever I can so that I don't keep getting that darn pop up window stating that I have to REP+ elsewhere before I can REP+ the member who truly deserves it.

We allowed ourselves to be sheepled folks whether you want to face it or not. Shame on us

Think about it, please THINK about it!! Take a minute or two to let the current situation sink in. Several members had an ongoing issue and now ALL of us are paying the price. We members beat our chests about religion, guns, politics, and so forth but something as simple as REP+ suckered all of us.
There are enough eyes here to watch and report abuse. Then action should be taken on just those members.

Therefore, I humbly ask the Mods/Admins to please let the REP+ rules go back to the way they were and take strict action on members who are abusing the system.

*Sigh* for the record, OP is allowed to add only 5 tags to a thread, and everyone else two tags.

Pointless, and whiny, were not added by her.
