Well it has to do with the fact that a Forum Backup would have been
prudent before using an unknown procedure to to fix a problem with
a member with only 40 posts... Yes I am pissed...

Yeah that makes sense, actually. Ive also noticed that some or most feelings or emotions dont get transfered into text , if you know what i mean.

specially when you're not expressing yourself in you're native language. I know how to translate things and how to construct sentences and all the crap, but since I've never been in any place where English was used regularly I totally fail at transmitting my feelings/emotions on my posts. I guess I just "say what I think" and that cold way of doing it sounds rude. From now on try to just read my posts objectively, I guess it will help hehe.

Btw, could you please tell me where exactly did I sound rude on that post? I'm really interested in correcting this mistakes of mine xD

yeah well, in some way this exact word was the one that offended me since I took personally and so I was trying to say "hey, I might be regurgitating the info you discovered but still I'm just trying to help anyway!", but not in an offensive tone!

Wow-I'm surprised you arent the #1 member, I guess you're right-perhaps manual rep does throw things off balance. But really it comes down to reading their comments rather than just looking at their rep #.

It really just comes down to statements in other language sounding sarcasting in english-english has no formal or informal conjugation, so formal words can sound sarcastic if you don't use the right "attitude" words.

"I'm sorry I'm not able to waste thousands of dollars in lasers but that's mainly because I don't even have them." The "I'm sorry" there is now used in english more often to say "get off my back about it", not actually apologising.

"I'm 18 and I just started in the university, so for now all I can do for the hobby is to "regurgitate" the info," this is fine.

"I'm sorry if my work doesn't seem fair for you..." once again, the I'm sorry carries a meaning of not really caring and basically saying "deal with it". Also, the part about it not being fair seems a bit dismissive, but not much you can do about that when they can't hear your voice. Try to color sentences with smileys to help convey your attitude, english can sound weird to native speakers when read.

It's the third or fourth time I'm told to be rude somewhere where I didn't had the most minimal intention to offend anyone and it's starting to become a real problem!

haha sorry lol. Yeah it's not your fault, it's just that other languages sound weird when changed to english, especially when you can't hear the person's voice. Although sometimes that makes it worse, a russian accent sounds like they are starting a discussion and an itallian accent sounds like he is trying to haggle XD

haha- when my teacher speaks in a spanish accent, it sounds alot like english to me. And yeah, english is weird because different words have different attitudes, like being aggressive or formal depending on where you put them. also traducir="to translate" in english

Oh and also..

Im just correcting this word you used "traducing" .

Which i think you took the word "traducir", which means to translate (for the rest of the english speakers here) , in spanish and gave it an english spin.

But yeah , it should have been "translating" .

I speak spanish , so i catch some of those things.
