Well I'm not on this forum everyday like I used to be nor following everyones stories and drama, but while checking the status on some flexdrives I ordered from Flaminpyro recently I've come to learn that he is now banned from the forum.

WTF did I miss? Can anyone shed some light on whatever happened recently pls? Jeff has never done me wrong, and while I know we don't all get along with each other all the time I was surprised to see that I cannot reply to PMs between he & I now because he is banned.

It's none of my business and I respect that when it comes to the story and details, but if anyone can point me to some fight thread or whatever that led to his being banned - it would help me understand this situation a little better.

Many thanks

It's a temp-ban. He'll be back in 6 days. If you've done business with him, you should have his email addy from the PayPal transaction.

Peace,

I do, I have and now I understand... Thanks for the 411 guys.

On a personal 'we didn't ask your opinion dan' note..... I am surprised he & Matt are still draggin it out to this :(

Reminds me of the schoolyard playground when I was much younger... I miss being a kid on the swings, the slide and the monkeybars - but not the childish drama the came along with all of it

Jeff doesnt expose his real face on the open forum. We were all surprised by his actions. Just goes to show you that you never really know who people are on the internet.

Well I'm sure he had plenty of people pushing his buttons. We have some very experienced individuals who know how to egg someone on.

I don't have access to the vet section. I'm guessing thats where all the real drama happens.

It just kinda sucks that sometimes this place seems more like a schoolyard. Too many peoples feelings get all bent out of shape. People feel the need to take sides and wage war.
Maybe some members have too much of there lives invested in not just the hobby aspect of LPF, but all the social ongoings. I guess it's only natural especially for those who do spend hours on here each day. I don't know maybe I don't get it, I never have been a very social person.

I DONT want to see theses guys fighting, to the point they get them selves perma banned. Both of them have a right to be here and should just do there best to put personal drama aside and enjoy LPF.

Jeff has supplied me with almost every laser or part I have ever needed.

Mohernberg sold me my first laser way back when. I remember how proud he was of just the little wooden box he had found to sell his laser in at the time.

I just think whatever goes on outside, of the open public part of LPF. Should stay outside.
If people are taking sides and forming alliances. It is only hurting the general health of the forum. when we loose members
It's not good for LPF, it's not fun for your average user to have to read or see.

Thats not it. Jeff took a huge offence to people offering simular products than his. He has threatened people in the past, and I'm sure more we dont know about.

The Jeff you know is pleasant and helpful. But of course he is, he was making money off you, and building a clientele. I know its hard to believe, because he's personable, but I have PMs to the contrary talking about other people he did not like for one reason or another. It got to the point he even started attacking me, saying all this strange stuff that was not true. This recent action shows he's slowly starting to lose control, and the real Jeff is surfacing. The statement you made fits Jeff more than anyone else. He was on a mission to piss off Matt, and he did, Matt got a timeout. But instead of backing away he continued to try to troll another member. The Mods, his friends, and the Admin told him repeatedly to stop, but he kept going. Thats what got him banned, and he deserved it.

The way I see it, due simply to the way most DIY lasers are built here, there is little reason to get bent out of shape over things like someone else selling similar items.. Selling the same type of stuff is going to happen here. There are only so many types of wire, so many types of chargers, so many flashlights that look decent and are suitable for conversion to lasers, so many different ways to make heatsinks for said hosts, etc.. Granted there still isn't any reason to make exact duplicates. My sipiks are noticeably different from FP's tanks in assembly and appearance even though they're based on identical hosts. I even quit offering copper to help try to not step on any toes. (plus they take longer to machine heh, and I do good to keep the AL ones in stock)

This whole thing is just meh in my opinion. Yeah there's money involved, but it seems to me that good CS etc.. and NOT doing things like this is a lot more important than the products themselves.. since the products are inevitably going to be similar just due to the nature of what we're doing.

I remember those lasers! I found the cedar boxes in Branson, MO.
Unfortunately, the FDA bought one of those from me as well :(
for $65........
They even mentioned to me that it was under spec. I advertised them as ~120mW (they were set to 120mA) and theirs was outputting 88mW
I did not offer them a refund.....

I know that's not really funny.. But it kind of is at the same time, heh. .:shhh:

And it's also precisely why I don't really want to sell whole lasers even though i've been asked about it repeatedly.
