I've had my psp since it first came out and I'm now having problems with it. I'm not actually sure if it is my battery of my psp. My battery will 70% but it will still turn off by it self showing the empty battery symbol.

Any help would be appreciated :thanks:

Try powering it with just the AC adapter. If it works then it's your battery, if not, it's your PSP, sorry.

Probably battery. Does it work fine with charger plugged in?

it works when it is plugged into AC, but I do not want to buy another battery if my psp is not reading the battery properly.

Thanks for the help, I will borrow my buddies battery to see if that works.

If the issue continues even with a "known good" battery, you may need to clean up the contact pins on the PSP, if not you can get cheap replacement batteries from
DealExtreme: $4.90 1800mAh Replacement Battery for PSP
