I have not yet seen a thread about this so I thought I would inform everybody.

About a month ago HongKong post implemented a new system for checking outgoing mail. This is causing a massive delay for packages, and you may experience shipping times increasing drastically.

I always have packages coming from China, and so far they are all taking around five weeks, instead of the usual two weeks.

Whether the change is permeant or not is yet to be seen.

Just keep this is mind if you have not received your package from China yet.

Added it to the shipping info sticky.

I do hope we get back to two week turn around times for chinese orders... five weeks is borderline unacceptable to me. (At 44 days if I don't have order I open a dispute.)

I've already had to open two disputes for fear of missing the deadline only to close it after getting the item after 45-50 days.

Thanks for adding this to the sticky. I've been waiting on DL since October 18th!

Tracking is sitting on "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment."

This could very well explain the problems/delays with the recent Skylasers Group Buy.

Tacking on that much extra time to shipping is going to cause a lot of headaches.

My most recent order from china was for a flashlight, fortunately it did take only about two weeks.

Let's hope things get back to normal after the holiday season is over.

I may be wrong, but I think HK post and China post may be separate, so this is probably for packages coming from HK only.
