I thought it would be cool to start a thread where people can post pics of their computers...

Post pics of your current computer, or any computer that you built (even if its not yours) or any mods that you have done.

Ill start by posting my pc mod that I just finished. :D

I just built a custom pc for my brother a few months back. And I am building a pc for a friend this week. I will post pictures of them two soon.

And the insides? It's what's inside that counts. And why the choice of the Intel board?

I'm a workstation boy myself, my rigs tend to be much more restrained.

Allendale: Network file server

Really, nothing fancy. E4600 and a pair of 40GB IDE drives. Seriously, though, I can't quite afford better. Besides, it doesn't need to do much. It just sits around looking good (and when I do need to dial in from the outside word, it doesn't do a half-bad job as a VPN server)

I also have DSCP08R2. Well, if you have to ask, you probably don't understand her.

The two of 'em:

I also threw this together for a friend a while ago. Rest assured, I have a replacement CPU cooler for him. The Intel 'reference thermal solution' is, for want of a better description, a piece of shit.

Ahh, the joys of Radeons and the i7-2600k.

Nice set up....
I like the blue sleeved power supply.
As long as it does what you need it to do.... then its perfect.

Ill take some pics of the inside of mine tomorrow. You can see some of the inside in my video... but the cable management in the video was bad.... I have since cleaned it up a bit, but its not a large case... so cable management isn't perfect...

I do have an inside pic of my brothers pc though(which I built a few months ago)

Ooh, midget board :p Lovely paintjob on the 1200 too. (Oh, of course, then there's all his audio gear. Do want. )

That isn't a bad piece of kit, we either use Asus or Gigabyte boards in-shop. Never had an issue with either of those companies.

DSCP08R2 is looking at an overhaul soon (was built back in '09), whereas Allendale just needs new hard drives.

In any case I probably should get more RAM for my laptop first.

And as for the Monster Energy PC, I've noticed you've used an Intel board. Last Intel board I used in some form or another was the Bad Axe 2, it was a pleasure to work with and I doubt they've changed much since then.

Yea Hes gonna get a regular ATX in the future when he needs to upgrade.

This is his recording pc, Hes got It set up with dual monitors, like 3 mixers, a midi controler, and all kinds of other stuff that I don't even understand. Our whole basement is full of his recording stuff.

Actually the monster pc, it might look like an intel board, but its not.
The monster pc, wasn't built at first. It was an Asus CG5290-BP007 purchased pc that I shredded, modded, and then upgrade a bunch of the innards. The board is a Asus Rampage II Gene, but it looks different. It doesn't have any of the colors or heatsinks as the real Rampage II.
But it does say "Asus Rampage II Gene CG5290" on the board. Like it was a dumbed-down version just for this pc they were selling. Although it does appear to have all the same stats as the real Rampage II.

Ill take a pic of the board/name when I take some pics of the inside of it.

Sadly my monster PC case is gonna get retired. Im upgrading some innards soon, and the case is too small.
I plan on upgrading to the Cooler Master HAF X (Nvidia Green Edition) case... And upgrading my motherboard to the GIGABYTE G1.Sniper for future upgrades.

Im jealous. Wish I had one.

Well for a long list of reasons, I decided to ditch the mid-sized "Monster" case, and get a full size case.

--------------------------

It only had two 3.5" hard-drive bays. Both of which were being used, and both hard-drives were also full. So I had nowhere to mount a new hard-drive.

The case didn't have the greatest cable management system.

I had a list of upgrades that I want to get, that would not work with a mid-size case. I am upgrading to a water cooling kit in a couple of weeks, and I want to upgrade to an Extended ATX board instead of a Micro ATX in the future.

So I ordered the Cooler Master HAF-X Nvidia Green Edition, along with some green uni-sleeved cable extensions for the 24pin power, the 8pin, and the 6pin PCI-E (graphics card)

All-in-all I am pretty happy with the new setup. Lots of more room for future upgrades.
I may be looking to sell the Monster energy case.... not sure yet. I might keep it, to build a decent house/family computer in the future.

Here are some pics of the switch, and the new build:

The two cases side by side. First pic is a cell phone pic, excuse the quality.

Just installed a pair of Mercury Extreme Solid State Drives in my Mac Pro. Sandy Bridge in a Raid 0 on an add on specialty drive sled called a DX4 that supports four of them.

SATA Cables are run directly from the motherboard on a SATA II connection (unfortunately it's only a 3gb/s not 6gb/s for the motherboard, but there are two. So throughput is between 500-600MB/s real world.

SSD's are the future! Most programs launch instantly and boot time dropped from 30 sec to about 17sec.

I've upgraded video to a Radeon HD5770

Not much more you can do in the MacPro.

BTW, although I'm not a PC fan. Some of these posted are beautiful, love to see them!

I need to get an SSD too.
Just a small one, enough for Windows and my most used programs....
Then my main storage can go onto a bigger HDD. They are just so expensive per GB ratio. Im trying to wait until the hopefully go down in price a little.
