There is a guy on CPF that has a few left. I bought one a few days ago. Evidently there is more than one type, but he sells the whoop ass one.
What did you do to kill it?

edit: I thought lasers were expensive and somewhat confusing...Then I started reading over in that forum.
I'm planning on doing a 3"D" maglite mod with a melles griot aspherical lens, a custom bezel, and a finned head. I'm almost at $200 with getting the parts, and this is one of the cheaper mods. It's gonna look awesome!..

i had it directly up to 2xCR123 batteries.....i didn't have a driver capable of 2000+mA

lol...i will be more careful this next time around, but these things are awesome, you can turn a tiny little flashlight into a freakishly bright torch!

If you don't use a driver, you can direct drive it with batteries...3.6v max (I believe) anything over that and it will fry.

I think p7 is around 700 lumens or 900lumens if they are driven at 1.7 A.
Those are bright torches.

Moh, consider a MCE-BIN-E ? 4000 lumens?

4000? They get 950 max. A p7 is 700-900 lumens at 2800mA depending on bin.

P7:
2.8A max at 3.6/3.7v = 900lm

MC-E:
2.8A max at 3.2v=700lm OR 700mA max at 13.2v = 700lm

Q5:
700mA max at 230lm

That's all off the top of my head, you should check those figures before you rely on them...

Only the D-bin P7 puts out 900 lumens. Really the only place to find those is on CPF Marketplace. The C-bins are what you see in anything off of DX, which puts out 800 lumens. The D-bin puts out 900 lumens at 2.8A. And Mohrenburg, these things need A LOT of heatsinking. I have a 6 inch SSC flashlight here that puts out about 600 lumens, and can burn your skin within 10 minutes. Never use direct drive!

Primary- XRE-Q5 is the brightest of those listed. It puts out about 250 lumens max. Also, the Cree R2 puts out about 270 lumens, and is pretty much superior in every way.

P7s are rightfully driven with 2x18650. Lights with 1 18650 don't have enough surface area for the heat, and don't put out anything near 800 lumens.
