OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE.....OH WOW....*snif* DUDE I'M CRYING IN JOY...THEY'VE FIXED ONE OF MY MOST COMMON MISTAKES!!!

If you type www.google,com it will transform that comma into a dot!

And when I thought I couldn't love Opera more.

That's actually a bad idea. What if I'm typing a URL that has commas in it?

Don't worry, Chrome will catch onto it too I think :p

After trying Opera the development tools in Firefox seam much easier to use.

That and Opera seam to work slower than Firefox. Perhaps they dont optimize Opera for Mac OS X?

Oh, and Opera give some strange results on a couple of javascripts I use on some pages. Mainly checkin for a variable that indicated if Firebug is active on the visiting system or not yields an javascript execution error in Opera that stops all javascript on the page. Not that good at all. I wouldnt use Opera until they fix that bug :)

Does opera affect the speed of downloads? Because now stuff seems to download quicker than with chrome. Maybe it's just me.

Opera has a feature for compressing pages (mostly images on pages) for slow connections. That is not something thats on by default thou (you can activate it at the lower left side of the browser window). All speed on the net is also goverened by ho much other people use it at the time of your download so you might have tried in a timespace where most people in your part of the world are off the net?

I have 3 things to say so far:
1) Opera Turbo is awesome! I am using it a lot at the moment as my internet connection is crap and I have to browse loads of text-only sites which have jpeg and gif ads everywhere.. now I just get what I need!

2) Opera refuses to import any of my bookmarks, which is really annoying. The function simply doesn't work.

3) When saving files from the internet, I lack the search box in the top of the "save in" window. I need that to locate the folder to save to as fast as possible.

Sadly I am changing back to Firefox. I use bookmarks and save files constantly and Opera is refusing to cooperate. Opera is only used on LPF and a few other text-sites.

As I already said, if you are not gonna use the mail client, opera turbo and this kind of stuff opera chrome works as good as Opera ;)

Oh lol I'm sure it had already corrected me some times without me knowing it because I used to do this mistake always xD

Sorry, but I tried Opera a long time ago. It blows IMO. I prefer IE8 over any other browser, followed by chrome.
That's because Opera fails as a browser.

If you are really telling me that after comparing browsers you prefer Internet Explorer 8, you for sure haven't any idea on browsers. Seriously, IE is the only one that FAILS here...

Personally, I'm more worried about security fixes but what ever floats your boat I guess

Word of a IE user. LOL

Don't worry, Chrome will catch onto it too I think :p

Sure, FF and chrome have copied half of their features from Opera already... xD

You totally got me here. There are 2 cons on Opera:

1.-Webmasters do their websites for IE or for firefox, but they never check how it's working on Opera. This means that Opera has to adapt itself to the firefox standarts, something that it does successfully on a 99.9% of the times, but sometimes not.

2.-SunMS does never look on how their JVM is working on Opera, so Opera has to take care on it, again some times it fails. This used to happen to me in a concrete site on the past, but I sent a bug report to them and they fixed it in the next version.

This happens always or happened to you once? If you close opera and open it again everything should be as it was. have you tried to press F5 when this happens?

I know the download manager in Opera used to be a "kick ass" in the past since for its speed and also because it also was the first browser that managed the downloads that way (in a list, allowing you to pause/stop and then starting again from the same point...) But I though that advantage was over, although I really don't know. Maybe it's just you, or maybe Opera is helping you again ;)

1)Glad you liked it ;)

2)It works for me. how are you doing it? Remember you first have to export them from firefox: Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Export HTML

This is the file you have to open with opera when trying to import!

3.-why does it matter to first select the foler and then clicking "save" than first clicking "save" and then selecting the folder?

Yours,

I have this problem too. It happens pretty much whenever. Opera will just start failing.

Also, one thing Opera has NEVER fixed is their password saving. It NEVER actually saves/automatically inputs passwords. Only sites with a "remember me" box actually work. Sometimes even that fails

what? It works perfectly for me! It's a password saving feature, not a "automatic login" feature! What did you expect it to do?

So you're saying it fills in your username and password into the boxes automatically? Because mine doesn't (as I already said). That is what I expect it to do, and that is what it's supposed to do. Firefox does it; Opera fails to do it. That is one VERY deterring aspect of Opera I cannot stand.
