Is one seconf glue bad for your health. If i usr it i usally get tears and painful eyes by the gas that comes out of the glue when fluid.
I today used a soldering iron and one second glue, it made the glue go up into air...and my eyes almost explode out of tears. It was stopid of me to forget i used glue first.
Everyone else have experiencr with this?
Thamks.

The fumes are pretty nasty, especially to mucous membranes such as nose and eyes,
but cyanoacrylate is sometimes used in an emergency situation glue the skin together
to close up wounds and prevent blood loss.

There is a certain type of plastic which is very nasty when it hits the soldering iron.
I remember when the fumes hit me in the face, it burnt my nose so horribly bad, and i thought i was going to pass out. I had to sit down until the dizziness went away. Not sure what's in that stuff but it wasn't good.

Crazy glue and denim are a BAD combination.
Gets hot and releases a LOT of fumes.
I am actually wearing a pair of jeans that got a drop of glue on them a few years ago

Are you alright man? You're typing like you're on some kind of glue. That's not normal...

well by our standards... maybe that's more ordinary.

It actually isn't bad for you, since the fumes become inert upon contact with moisture. (in your nose, eyes, etc.) They are, however, an irritant - and some people can be allergic to them.

(Maybe someone here can do the whole C5H5NO2+H2O equation.. Years ago I would have been able to, but I can't now :) )

So while it can smell nasty and irritate the hell out of your eyes and nose, it's very unlikely that it can actually cause you harm.

So while cyanoacrylate fumes are NOT toxic, remember that ANY irritants can cause 'ideopathic' allergic reactions, (allthough rare--) as well as the possibility of secondary triggers causing a latent allergic reaction. (Even if you've never had an allergic response before. Allergies are generally not 'genetic', and can begin for anyone at any time.) If at any time, (with ANY possible irritant -- solder fumes, glue, plastic, anything) you start to feel your throat closing up (Even a little) , or your tongue swelling, DO NOT "wait around" to "see" if it's an anaphylactic reaction. Call help RIGHT away, and take an antihistamine such as benadryl/diphenhydramine while you're waiting for them to come.

Not to scare you. That's just good sense from working with any possible irritants, from onions to epoxies.

Also, take what AUTO XX said about the reaction with cotton seriously: If you're wearing cotton clothing and working with cyanoacrylate, a drop of it on that cotton clothing can cause an exothermic reaction that can burn your skin severely (and compound it by bonding the burnt material to your skin) or even set clothing on fire. (Really.)

So, generally, cyanoacrylate is rather safe even though its fumes can knock you on your butt. Just be aware of what can happen, and respect the materials...

Shit xD. I ment "guy".
He is very stubborn though. He has a old tv at home and claims he, his sister and his wife could not see the difference between 480p, 720p and 1080p tv's.(with all playing own res movies)
He said he also spoke to a expert in tvs and acvording to the expert it was scam to get more sales...
I told that it was simply not true but i couldnt get it in him.

Some people just don't appreciate nice things ;)
I had a guy tell me that his 400cc dirtbike accelerated harder and had a higher top speed than my cbr954 sportbike.

I constantly hear from people who believe hi-def is a scam. I have one friend who swears his upscaling DVD player beats native 1080p blu-ray...

I tell him you can't make data where there isn't any; he claims it's a conspiracy.

Oh well...
