The main point of this thread is just to rant about stuff our government is doing that makes you /facepalm.

Lately it seems that the ignorant fear mongers have taken control and simply refuse to let go. We've got the new enhanced TSA security measures that are beyond pointless for a few key reasons.
-If terrorists wanna kill people they can just blow up a bus or market about 1000X easier and it doesn't even need to be a suicide attack. Let's completely screw our air travel system to make extra sure they can't ever bomb a plane again. After all that would be the worst thing in the world. Much worse than multiple bombings, blowing up railroad containers of chlorine in a residential area or anything else. Heaven forbid they ever bomb a plane.
-The old measures were already good enough. The latest attacks against airplanes failed cause the terrorists needed incredibly complex and ineffective techniques like underwear bombs.
-If a suicide bomber REALLY wanted to bring down an airplane they could just have a bomb implanted in their body somewhere. It's a suicide attack anyway.

Also now the useless leech of an organization known as the DEA is planning on an Emergency 1 year ban on Spice starting in 30 days to give the government time to decide if they want to officially ban spice.:crackup:

A friend of mine just retired he was a Federal Marshall. We had a discussion about weed and it being legalized. He agreed that if the US would legalize weed and sell it like they do alcohol they would make millions instead of spending milions trying to get rid of unsuccessfully.

Not to mention the hundreds of uses for industrial hemp that would come if it's ever legalized. That's actually one of the main reasons why it was made illegal in the first place. To protect the timber/cotton/paper industries. They all got together and funded a massive fear campaign centered around weed leading to interracial relationships and other racist stuff.

Now the main people opposing it are:
-Conservatards and other ignorants who think that weed is the devil and that all people who use it end up moving to crack/meth/heroin or turn into a lazy stoner. By that logic alcohol should be banned again because it makes people do immoral things and some people turn into alcoholics and get addicted to it.
-Sellers/growers because they would lose their profit

Some of these guys are 80 and older, no wonder they can't get anything done they are worried about if they took their Geritol and what time to take their Viagra. It pisses me off that they are worried about what the Republicans or Demacrats doing, I don't give a rats ass what either one is doing they should work together and do whats best for the people not the Dems or the Reps. If the people want weed I say give it to them and the taxes on it could go to helping out education or something else that is useful.

It was legal at one time but so was opium. I listened to a report where they have found that weed does less harm than alcohol or tabbacco. I don't trust the government they are a bunch of sneaky back stabing bastards.

They don't need a mandatory retirement age as much as term limits for the senate and congress. There's a reason why they have term limits for the president. This country urgently needs some fresh blood in the government. Right now the government is dominated by career politicians with their long term enemies and alliances. In the end nothing ever gets done because they're more concerned with getting back at the other party than actually doing something productive. Also campaign contributions need some serious modification.

Right now both parties feel that the best plan of action is to do everything in their power to sabotage anything attempted by the other party. They know that by making the other party fail it makes them look better. In the end nothing notable gets done and everyone is a loser.

As far as I'm concerned, losing .005% of Canada is worth going to war over. Granted it is in kind of a crap area for weather but it is VERY rich in raw resources.
I say: They should have either been given nothing and told to F**K a tree or given a parcel of land they could build a home on and then been offered money for the gov't to buy it back.
Might cost more in the short term but supporting these idiots costs one hell of a lot more!

The gov't GIVES every new immigrant $24,000/year (I think) to help them "settle in" yet the senior citizens that have paid for their pension for entire lifetimes get something like 1/4 of that.
They have a heathcare system that has stopped covering a lot of the stuff that it did a year ago and they just dropped the old age pension AGAIN.
Illegal aliens should be shot, survivors should be shot again.
Immigrant Vietnamese commercial fishermen were given fishing boats, don't have to pay taxes, and usually don't even have the same set of laws concerning quotas (size, catch limit, species, etc.)
Now they essentially OWN the commercial fishing in British Columbia) and the fish cops are afraid to even write tickets because they literally get shot if they do try.
The "true Canadian" fishermen were ruined basically by a war of attrition and many multi-generation fishing families bankrupt.
Kinda makes you want to vigilante the hell out of some of these special interest groups...

Don't worry. Here in Germany Spice was banned a few years ago. Now there are some other very good legal herb-blends available
Maybe these blends are more unhealthy than weed, but weed will never be legalized (again - cause once it was legal; banned in Germany since 1971).

Just a little example, picked randomly from the too much ones ..... you probably know that a pair of our regions lately suffered from flooding and so on, due to bad weather, one very bad (houses destroyed from mud/terrain avalanches, flooding, streets blocked, some dead peoples, and some thousands of families without a home where return) ..... at the same time, on an archeological site, due to bad management there was a fall from part of a monument (house of gladiators in Pompei) .....

Well, there was a discussion, or, better said, an half fight, between some politicians, if was more important to send money in help of the flooded population, or if was better to send the money for restauration of the monument (not enough money for do both the things) .....

Also, I prefer that drugs be illegal. I deal with idiots every day who have had too much of them. There are plenty of these useless douche bags already, no need to increase that number exponentially by legalizing it. I'm mostly talking about crack and meth addicts...

Also, I'm tired of stupid citizens constantly complaining about shit being broken (which is fine) but then freak out whenn they realize they must pay TAXES for it to get fixed. Shit isn't free! My town is a perfect example. Everyone complained because the water tastes like shit. So they built a new water tower, a reverse osmosis treatment plant and installed new water mains (which were probably over 100 years old)
To pay for all this, they had to increase the water bills by 60%
Now there is a petition going around because everyone is pissed about their water bill going up.
I don't quite understand how we have become a super power, as all I see when I go out in public are fat, lazy, stupid people. Start watching people more closely. It's really amazing how ignorant the "average" person is. I use to think that I was smart. Now i'm just convinced that I excel because the bar has been set so low as to accommodate for the average person who is a fucking retard.
