I've been reading on here that these new 445nm diodes can draw approximately 1.5A or power. I'm planning on using a host with 2 NiMh AA batteries as a power source. I have a lot of duracell 2650mAh batteries. You guys think they will handle the laser ok? If not, can you recommend which ones I should use? Thanks.

P.S. I know if too much current is drawn from a battery for long periods of time, they lose their capacity. I know my batteries will power the diode no problem, but obviously I'm looking to not damage the cells.

What about the Li-Ion 18650's? You guys thing they can handle the current draw?
