This thread will be sooooo much better than the NFL thread. :D

With the NHL season just a month away, my excitement is starting to ramp up.

My team, are the Ottawa Senators. Daniel Alfferdsson left us :( , however we picked up Bobby Ryan, Clarke MacArthur. With a healthy team, and the addition of Bobby Ryan, I see the Ottawa Senators being the team to beat this season.

Who is your team?

Ottawa you say? Well I'm going for Montreal. Honestly as long as Montreal beats Toronto I'm happy :)

I think Ottawa did get better over the summer. I think Montreal did too though. Boston in my opinion lost the most, but are still a good team just have to see how it works out.

Here's my guess for the eastern conference top few
1.NYR (great goaltending and a solid team)
2.PIT (you know... Just Pittsburg lol)
3.WSH ( Only if they get good defence along with offense )
4.TOR( this really kills me to say that :p )
5.BOS( little lower ranking than usual but just my guess based on the new players they got)
6.MTL (with the addition of tall players I think the others will be able to produce offense)
7. OTT ( Ryan will help out but I feel Ottawa will be better next year just a feeling I have )
8. NYI ( I feel this could also be the jets but the islanders are decent )

That's my guesses they are probably gonna be wrong I never guess these right :D

Ottawa finished 7th last year, while missing, Spezza, Karlsson, Michalek and Anderson for most the season. Now, these players are healthy and with the additions of Bobby Ryan, and MacArthur, i see Ottawa placing better then 7th.

ALSO, don't forget. Detroit and Columbus are now in the Eastern Conference. So, expect them to made an impact.

1. PIT
2. OTT(Might be a bit biased)
3. NYR
4. DET
5. MON
6. TOR
7. NYI
8. BOS

This is my top 8 teams by points, not taking into account division leaders .

I completely forgot Detroit and Columbus that's true haha.. You are right on Ottawa and the injuries. But your prediction maybe OTT and DET would be swapped. I could see Ottawa in top 5 for sure though. I am trying to be as non byased as possible as possible :)

Hello all,
I think the Rangers having Allan Vigneault as coach will help their top players big time.
Rich Nash had his hands tied last year with Tortorella's defense first philosophy, and He wrecked Brad Richards too. Plus having all the players blocking every fricking shot takes its toll. As long as King Henrik is the King, we should be it the top 3.

Det used to be my favorite team

Living in Nashville, I guess I should root for the preds...

Guess maybe Nash and Det ought to have plenty of games here, maybe I could get myself out to one this season! Haven't seen any full games in a while.

Heck, I'm an embarrassment of an NHL fan! BShan, he's what, some safety dude or something now?

Yeah, He is the discipline guy. Determines if, and, how long a suspension is.

Hey Guys,
I thought I would share some pretty neat photos of me in my #7 Rod Gilbert jersey (shows my age). The first is me with the Cup when it traveled to NJ in May of 2001 when the Devils were in the Eastern Conference Finals. It took guts to wear my Ranger jersey with about a thousand people dressed in Devil jerseys. The next two pics were taken at an event I was lucky enough to go to at MSG through my job. It was a clinic at Madison Square Garden and we also got to play a 30 minute game. The players at the clinic were Glenn Anderson, Barry Beck and Brian Mullen. Afterwards (they let us shower first)we had a dinner and sat in a luxury box for a game.At the dinner, Glenn Anderson pulled out of his pocket a 1994 NYR Championship ring, a 1987 Edmonton Championship ring, and a 1993 Toronto 1993 Division Champs ring. I asked him if I could take pictures of them and he said try them on so I did. It was so cool! The last pic is me with two of the NYR Cheerleaders/Skaters, who had the ice after we did. They used to perform between periods for the fans. When Isiah Thomas of the Knicks had all of his sexual harassment charges, some of the Ranger girls also said they were sexual harassed by Ranger execs and they got rid of all of them. They were nice enough to pose with anyone there who asked them.

Ill smack both of you for putting Boston so low ;)

You both obviously have no knowledge of Claude and his plans, along with the players we have. Not that many have left and the ones who did, we really didnt want them; aka Tyler Seguin. Bruins are going to be a force yet again this year, you'll see

And if you dont think so then tell that to Berg.......he'll smack that idea out of you. Better yet tell it to the little ball of rage ;)

Haha they are going to make the playoffs but I think they are a better team in the playoffs. I expect them in the eastern final but for the regular season I think they will end up in the middle (4-6)

Hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I will say, you prob havent been reading their camp reports then. Everything looks pretty kick ass for this year. Better than last year and look where we got last year. Tuk is a brick wall, all i can say is good luck to everyone this year, they'll need it to get past Tuk ;)

Without a doubt, Boston gonna play a big role. The East, is now by far the toughest, and most excited division, especially with the addition of Detroit and Columbus.

I'm so excited for this season because Ottawa truly has a chance to win it. They haven't had a team like this since 2006-2007, the year they went to the finals, biggest difference is now we have a better goalie and better defense.
