Nice matt! You should spray paint it so that you can bring it somewhere.

Did you seal the entire box? If not you should really port it somewhere or else its kinda a half mix between sealed and ported, thus not the best sounding

Yes its completely sealed. I was so paranoid about leaks I caulked it like 4 times.... and went overkill on the wood glue...

I cant put it past 1/4 volume without worrying about the cops being called. Seriously, its kind of scary.

What kind of sub do you have? Honestly I think sealed sounds better than ported for most subs... depends on the setup

Rockin' out with a JL Audio 12W6 :D

But awesome project! Enjoy

Nice work.
I like the sound of ported subs. Sealed boxes sound "deaf"

Nice looking sub. Sealed sub's sound better no question about it and ports require some math to get right...well sealed kinda needs to be sized also. Did you put any deadening material inside or leave it hollow?
I have always had the bass addiction and built speakers in highschool that looked horrible (not a woodworker) but sounded damn good, me and step dad wound the crossovers and everything. Pick yourself up a SPL gauge from Radio Shack or somewhere and a test or tone burst CD and see what that thing can really do.
My Sunfire true sub signature set me back $2000 but worth every penny.

The type of box is one thing but there are a lot of other factors on how an enclosure eventually "sounds" in the final application. Watch this.

Doing a sealed box reduces the variables that affect the sound so it ends up being most forgiving to errors.

You can use felt or rubber feet that is used to stick under furniture so it won't walk when the bass hits.
