Need help hooking up computer to tv.

Okay, i got a cable to hook my computer to my tv, on one side is the s-video that plugs straight into my graphics card and on the other end the red, yellow, and white connectors. I finally got it working but for some reason it just will not show my whole computer screen on my tv, ive tried every single resolution option it has but still the start bar will not show up on my tv, its like anything within 1inch from the edge of my monitor just will not show up on my tv. Does anyone know how to fix this, ive tried looking up on Google but nothing turned up.

what type of graphics card?

nividea g-force fx 6500

Not the greatest but it works fine for most things.

It'll have a nice hard time displaying on your TV... It's not meant for that, if you can believe it. I hooked up my laptop to my TV once, and it displayed with a super-skewed resolution for 3 seconds before it crashed the computer because of graphics demand.

'Nother question... Is it a CRT or a LCD/Plasma? what size?

It will run perfectly fine for hours if i need too, the only thing wrong is that it doesnt show the whole desktop.

Its a crt tv about 20inch.

i can hook up my computer to my tv, BUT my tv is a 26 inch 720p lcd visio using a VGA cable, not S-video.

Oh... I've had that problem with every CRT I've hooked my computer up to. Position the start menu on the side or top or something.  

mine failed because it's a 42" 1080p LCD. <.<
