Folks,

Unfortunately, I have asked c0ldshadow to remove my moderator privileges. * :'(:-[

I am unable to give LPF the 110% committment expected from a mod but I will still pop in now and again. *

I hope that each of you can stay on track and make LPF an educational, informative and fun place to discuss lasers & technology.

Maybe one day LPF can become a much respected & admired laser forum seen anywhere on the internet and encourage/promote the advancement of laser technology for everyone, providing positive and constructive feedback to ALL the manufacturers/suppliers of laser products.

Regards,

NairB

I had wondered where you had been NairB, make sure you do visit and post too. You'll be sadly missed by us all, be good and if you've got that new motorbike yet have great fun and drive safely.

Best Regards Lee

Damn - you'll be well missed, NairB - come back and hang out sometime - it won't always be so highly politically charged.
Regards, and respects,
Greg

Thanks Timelord & SenKat and sure, I will post still when I get the chance, really busy right now.

When I get my bike I will post up the picks. I was sitting on her the other day. I love it!!!

Oh, can I ask a favour from ye all. It would be better for LPF's reputation if you keep the direct attacks towards laser companies to an absolute minimum. I am getting very, very, very negative feedback from reputable folks in the laser world regarding these type of threads. Folks would rather join a forum thats friendly and informative rather than attacks left, right and center. LPF as a proper discussion media will go down the drain if that continues!!!

Keep LPF focused on lasers and technology instead, trust me!!!

Anyways, Timelord did you get those bino's (Skymaster 15x70's) by the way for Christmas??

*EDIT* - LoL SenKat you posted as I was writing this.....thanks for the reply *

I did get those binos and after the second pair from argos i got a good set, very good for astronomy purposes too. The tripod for the extra 10 is quite sturdy for the money too. The test for any set of binos is when Jupiter is up and you can see all 4 moons then that'll test them good. But for star clusters and splitting double stars they are exelent. Oh and M31 is a real treat in them too.

Looking forward to those bike pics too

Excellent, it is a bit of a gamble whether or not you get a good set but they are excellent bino's for the price.

I have since bought a set of Strathspey 15x70's also to compare.....call me insane....as I was curious which pair was better for the 90.

I bet your amazed at what you can see with the skymasters.....have you looked at Pleiades & Orion Nebula with them.....STUNNING!!

Hi Proctor, thanks for the kind words.

Thats a nice telescope 203mm is nearly an 8 inch mirror.

A barlow lens on that will give you a very nice view of saturn rings & jupiters moons. I could see all of these on a 4.5 inch reflector.

Proctor, can I suggest you buy the Skymaster 15x70 binos first as these will give you an excellent FOV(field of view) of the night sky and a wonderful perspective of the star systems. A telescope like the one your looking at is for looking at singular objects rather than groups of stars like the high powered bino's give you. In some ways, the bino's can give you a better, more breath taking view than a telescope in some cases because of the FOV and the use of both eyes

Hehe, I might go with a smaller meade telescope tomorrow, see if I'd like to step it up from there and get a nice big scope with some quality optics and a low aperture number for astrophotography and view of more DSO's
