amk, I bought 10 of them. So I'll just send you one! You want the 1050mA one right? It was only like a buck fifty, and I don't need them all, so don't worry about trading or anything. After all, you did buy one of my heatsinks! I still have your mailing address from your PM...
Jay

P.S. amk, in case you haven't used this driver before, take a look at this picture. There is a spot on the driver that is marked 'Q2'. That is where you will solder your negative lead that goes to the emitter. The positive comes right from the middle (direct to the positive of the battery) The MXDL case must be grounded to one of the three holes on the side. The emitter is already isolated from the aluminum 'star' heatsink. So, you won't need to worry about that. As a friendly reminder, this driver is for a 3.6 to 4.5 volt supply.

thanks, how did you gropund it to the case?

Take it easy on yourself there amk... Everybody makes mistakes. The hardest part is to tell others about our mistakes. I have made some serious blunders that cost me much more that an open can. OUCH! Anyway, sometimes that's the best way we can learn things...

What mistakes, its your first one remember ;)

It always helps to pretend something never happened lol, like i never killed 4 diodes it was just a dream... They were just cheap led's i took out of something.

Back ontopic, im ordering this.. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5951
Ill report on how it fits in there (i know it is probably to small) but if it works it should clean it up and take away that black spot.

I also just found this one you think it would work, i cant really tell cause i lack a ruler that can measure mm lol.... http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3257
Just grind down that bottom part and if its the right size it would work.

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D

if your talking about the black spot in the middle of the white dot, thats because of the space between the LED and the reflector. just bring your emitter closer to the reflector.

They look too small, but for the price, why not check them out! You might be able to modify them to fit. Let us know how it works out...

Nice thread. I had the same thought when I saw all the different drivers and modules. Anyone used the 800 lumen led they sell?
