It's that time of year again! Every spring we burn off 14 acres of grass, got 1/2 of it done today. (My clothes stink now)

to help..

I almost had a heart attack today, I finished up the far end and tore down the pump, hoses and nozzle to move up closer to that big water tank.

I got all set up there, looked back and had a raging re-kindle blazing back by the woods edge.

I had to break down the pump setup all over again, set it up in the proper location fast and start hosing where I was.

Then I moved it all over again so I could resume.

If the weather permits I have about 7++ more acres to burn off.

The grass comes back so nice and green after the fire, The ash must fertilize the dirt.

Speaking of ash, my stupid dogs all got in the creek came out soaking wet then rolled in the black ash!!! it was awful, 3 jet black sooty dogs.... Had to give them all baths.

The guy who owns the field in front of my house does that about every 2 years or so. This year he took out half my yard with it. So needless to say I don't go out and give him a hand anymore.

That will be the greenest part of your whole yard.

Mine don't get away from me, I have almost as much fire equipment as our local FD has.

Plus the race track has the grass broken up into patches, so the fire always stops at the dirt where the track is.

The parts I colored black are done, I still have to burn the rest of it.

"Only in America does a man spend so much time, effort and money on a crop he cannot eat."

(I don't remember where I first heard that.)

I love our xeriscaping here in Arizona. Rocks and cacti!

What's your favorite neighbor do when all this is taking place? I bet he watches you closely.
Is that his puny little house, next to yours?
LOL no wonder why he hates you, he has no land at all compared to you.

My house is the one I circled, he has the nice 2 acre lawn...

My land is behind his house:eg:

And yes, they were out staring at me all day.
