Did you know Mexico means bellybutton?

HA ! FOUND IT ! It is translated from AZTEC !

From the Bellybutton of the Moon / Del ombligo de la luna
by Francisco X. Alarcon
The Aztec word, Mexico means 'from the bellybutton of the moon'. These summer poems are written in both English and Spanish.

Yeah I don't see why that should offend. It's just a comical fact.

Words are funny.
My name Muckerman, means little bug in German. It's a German name
I like Mexico, San Diego & Teajuana is my favorite place to party.

History is that the Spain came and killed the Astecs with guns, germs and steel.
They were a advanced culture.
My respect goes out to Mexico and the nice people there.
Hell, lets all take a nap at noon!

Cheers,

That is news to me.

But besides, I think of the way that Mexicans treat their dead family (thinking of how everybody goes to the cemetary some day in november, eating cakes and having a good time) as way better that the typical "western culture" with "Oh no, be quiet on the cemetary, and he was such a good man, and you have to be sad".

And, man, I love tacos :)

Well, anyone that wants to have some Mexican, or more accurately, "Texican" culture...feel free to come on by and visit me in San Antonio ! I absolutely go nuts for the "authentic" Mexican food that is EVERYWHERE here - and the little shops downtown in the "El Mercado" area are FANTABULOUS ! :) Man - I love the culture, the colors, the flavors - I live very close to the border, and I think the info from the last census stated that there were more Spanish (or more accurately Spanglish) speaking people in San Antonio, than there were English speaking folks ! I was pretty tripped out my first "real" trip here four years ago, to watch my Son graduate U.S. Air Force boot camp here...I accidently left MY luggage...yeah, only MINE was left in teh driveway at my house (damnit !) and when my Aunt came to the pick us all up at the airport, our first stop was Wal-mart so I could have some sleep wear, and some clothes other than what I had on ! (DUH !!!) While in Wal-Mart, they made an announcement, blah, blah blah....and then it followed in SPANISH ! All the signs in the store were written in English and in Spanish ! It TOTALLY freaked me out ! I am less stunned by it now - and like I said, I love the culture, the crafts, and especially the FOOD ! :D [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

You people know what sucks? That there is no Taco Bell in Germany, Heck not even in whole Europe, as far as I know!
And, I mean, Taco Bell is some serious stuff, man, that sorta fast food, that is good food!

That's the food that I really miss from the states (or, mexico, obviously). That, and a proper Burger, not the McD stuff, but one that drips, that is way too big for your mouth, one that you would still see on the scales for weeks (if you cared, that is...). Can't get those here, neither.

Well for a GREAT burger in the states you have to hunt down a Five Guys Burger! That stuff is amazing! We got one in my town not too long ago and their regular burger is a double patty!

Well, it's a bit mistranslated, but what would you expect from an automatized translator?

It's very funny to translate something to Chinese, then translate it back to English, you get some funny mangrish, such as this:

"Good, she loves certain Mexicans' any person, or even more exactly, "Texican the"... culture did not suspect arrives and visits by me in San Antonio! Seeks help absolute nut "to me is everywhere here tunnel" Mexico food - and a shopping downtown in "market" local plow FANTABULOUS! My "the tunnel" Mexico food nut does not go to me is everywhere here - convenience store and the downtown in "the market" region is FANTABULOUS!"

You've got to see those Chinese menus on rahoi.com ;D
