Medical Condition Update Thread For LPF Members

many of you know that i spent some time in a hospital about a month ago and put up a thread http://laserpointerforums.com/f57/hospital-89450.html
that thread really should not be used for updates on my condition so i am making this thread to keep the LPF members that want to know what is going on updated on with me and my family..

Madmacmo was kind enough to start a donation thread to try and help us with monetary aid.. and it has helped get me to some medical appointments ande ny some bills. it has been much appreciated! Unfortunately I do not see my condition getting any better soon.

I had a bad day today between losing function in my left arm and leg and having a really bad leg jerking session as well.. this is very disconcerting to me makes it hard to do my class work in so much pain.:cryyy: but the big thing is the depression that has been with be most of the last month.. I really want to go back to work and support my family like i have been for the last ten years and this just makes me fell worthless. I know im not but that is the way I currently feel. If not for some very dear friends such as Madmaco, The Greenlander,Jmillerdoc. Paul158976. Hakzaw. PMan. Adam. Busman. Ru127 and others I really dont think I would be on the forum much. I have spent many hours reading posts and build threads and sit in awe of some of your guys builds and love for this hobby/entertainment.

I am going to keep this thread updated daily if i can if not a couple times a week to keep the ones that want to know how im doing informed.. Several of you have my personal # and if any one else that wants it pm I will give it out. I am on skype at vortish10 other than that thanks LPF for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers I really can use any help with the man up stairs as i can.. To the anonymous donors and you know who you are god bless you for your donations..

Have they ever figured out exactly what is causing it? I work in a neuro ICU.

No they have not found the cause i went through five ct scans and 3 mris and still nothing. Though a friend who is a md and his hospitals Neurologist think I had a smalll infarc brought on by a migraine but that is just a educated guess

Crazy. Hope it all works out in the end man. I have gone through all that myself when I had numbness and a few other issues going on. Found out I had MS. Dr. put me on some meds. Have been symptom free now for over 2 years. Thankfully I have the least disabling one.

The not knowing part was what had me so bothered. Once I found out I just dealt with it and live each day like I dont have it. Hopefully yours isnt anything much and resolves itself soon.

It can be very unpredictable sometimes, I had a small paralysis/stroke about 6 months ago while driving and it turned out to be raised cholestrol levels plus a number of things.
Hope the new diagnostics work out in future and the root cause is found. Think healthy thoughts.

Thank you for the kind words.. sinner thanks for donating some thing for madmacmo;s little donation pot. did not get to thank you publicly.. yea the not knowing what is going on is the worst. the effects that i am still having are really a pain

There are lots of different medicines to treat depression and not all of them work for everybody.
Sometimes you just have to stick with it until you can find one that works. I know how hard it can be from
personal experience. There have been periods of up to a year where one after the other is tried before
finally finding something that works. It's all worth it in the end, though. It will work out eventually, even
though it seems like it never will.

Well had a outing with the entire family today and up to about a hour before we left to go home i was having a pretty good day as far as my arm not locking up and not allowing to move it and my leg only had a few tremors.. But a hour before we went home i was walking to the restroom and hit a hole with my left leg (did not see it) hidden in tall grass and jarred the crud out of it and im sitting at home now with a pain on the scale of one through ten at about a 7 hope the pain meds kick in soon. any way that is just the update for today i will update again on monday if need be or it might be later any way ty lpf for the support

Whatever you do don't take any antidepressant drug! They are all dangerous and must be avoided. I suffer from depression and am in pain 24/7 and I drink a few glasses of wine from time to time and that helps me with my symptoms but it wouldn't work with everyone, I discovered by accident a few years ago that the wine relieves my symptoms (rapid heart beat, chest pain, trouble breathing). I will pray for you. Didn't you say somewhere that you served in the military? Or am I thinking of someone else? If you did serve, were you exposed to depleted uranium?

Pi R yes I did serve in the military. but it was national guard and reserves and I do not recall being exposed to DPU rounds. Its a possibility but unlikely. I do not qualify for Va help
because I do not have 180 days of active service. training does not count. I have dealt with depression for the last fifteen years and was on antidepressants for years and gained like forty pounds on them. I just been really down because of all that happening to me.. I had to leave my last job because it was effecting my health so right now im unemployed on benefits so that effects my mood, having little control of what is happening to me effects my mood, not providing a better life for my kids effects me, having to rely on others effects me, its just a lot to deal with right now. I do drink but its like a beer a week and because this is a neurological issue i have decided not to drink because it may impair me further. but thanks for the advice

Omg keep the faith my friend. I have always suffered anxiety and believe it or not, use mediatation to relieve it. I have been doing it over 25 years now and can control my breathing and heartbeat with it. Transcendental meditation is my medicine. Thinking and praying for you, Ru124t.

BusMan you know just what to say to make my day better thanks.. Today has started out not to bad leg is bothering me just a little.. not from jerking but from pain... I really detest the pain... working on a project for school.. wish I could fine some one on lpf that knows XHTML any way hope every one has a good day

Edit: well today did not goes as well as i had hoped.. My leg the ones that has been a issue have been hurting me all day today and im right now about a hour away from being able to take another pain pill.. oh well suck it up and drive on.. Headaches come and go depending on the day and what i did the day before. kind of in the dumps because im suppose to take care of the money for my family and my wife is going to start looking for a full time job..I really hate this... I know there are others on LPF in similar situations that do not post but I need a outlet to get my frustrations out so i do not take it out on my family they have done nothing wrong... Im sorry members for doing this not looking for pity or what ever just a out let for my frustrations
