Haha this explains why back in HS, we took a 1" ball of magnesium and set it on fire. Shat was bright as heck and wouldn't go out so we panicked and ran across the hallway, dumped the ball into the toilet. To our surprise it got brighter and the water started to boil. After seeing the first 30 seconds of that video, it all makes sense. Go figure, teacher wouldn't tell us water + magnesium = bad idea

I still have a large ball of magnesium from that class back home :whistle: Going to throw it into the lake this summer and see how far down I can still see it burn

I was hoping it would be a 100lb ingot that managed to ignite somehow, haha. Still fun though.

I have seen engine blocks and wheel rims burn before and they were spectacular, I can only imagine what a 100 pound solid block would do, lets go to the desert :whistle:



I was hoping it would be a 100lb ingot that managed to ignite somehow, haha. Still fun though.
