Elton john is my hero:
jesus was gay

Quote:
Sir Elton John has claimed Jesus was a "super-intelligent gay man" in an interview with a US magazine.
The singer also told Parade Jesus was "compassionate", forgiving and "understood human problems".
A spokesman for the Church of England said: "Sir Elton's reflection that Jesus calls us all to love and forgive is one shared by all Christians."
"But insights into aspects of the historic person of Jesus are perhaps best left to the academics," he added.
Sir Elton said in the interview: "On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving.
"I don't know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East - you're as good as dead," he added.
In the interview, the singer also said he did not like being a celebrity any more because "fame attracts lunatics".
"Princess Diana, Gianni Versace, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, all dead. Two of them shot outside their houses. None of this would have happened if they hadn't been famous. I never had a bodyguard, ever, until Gianni died," he said.
The full interview will be published on Parade's website on Friday

God is Gay

I was driving to class yesterday and heard, once again, the inane "In the Beginning God created Eve, not Steve" argument. I got to thinking. According to scripture, God is Gay. What follows is a response to the Eve vs. Steve argument

*******************************************

I thought that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god

and then there was light, and then he separated the heavens and the earth, and then he separated the land from the waters, and then he created the beasts and the fowl, and it was good

Now if you go a little farther along and get away from the beginning, god eventually decided that he was lonely

Now, as I understand it, god could have created anything he wanted to help fill his time and make himself happy.

He could have created Angelina Jolie and Mariah Carey to play a little "time warp" dace with, but he did not. To ease his loneliness he didn't create a hot chick with which to share his nights.

No. He created a hairy-legged dude (Adam) to help him feel "complete." Instead of creating Jolie and Carey, god created Russell Crowe

Although God was completely satisfied with Adam, apparently god had screwed up.

It seems that god wasn't enough for old Adam.

Apparently god had created Adam to be Bi-***ual

It was Adam's loneliness that prompted god to create Eve.

Then with both god AND Eve, Adam was happy

However, it seems that god had screwed up again.

When he was creating Eve, his jealousy must have fogged his vision
He created her, not as a servant and helpmate to Adam as he had intended

He created her with a mind of her own . . .

You see, it appears that Eve had a bit of Dr. Dolittle in her and that she decided she really liked fruit

Once Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit they recognized that they was nekkid

. . .and they liked what they saw.

They liked each other's nakedness soooo much that they started hiding from God and excluding him from their little twosomes

Thus God no longer got to enjoy his most favored, Adam

God was so jealous that he couldn't stand to see them enjoying the fruits of his labor without his involvement.

He kicked them out of his garden!

He became so bitter about losing his boyfriend to a woman that he has continued to punish their offspring for all time.

He has never gotten over Adam's betrayal of him with that floozie

Lately he has begun having his fans write proposed constitutional amendments to punish them.

NO on Prop. 8

************************************

I know . . . .I'm going to hell. At least I'll be able to be with the ones I love

Peace,
dave

I'm sorry but that it just completely silly. The argument above would be correct if the Genesis had actually said those things, but it very plainly says the opposite. You have to try very hard, to read Genesis like that. God created Adam to help care for the garden, and to have rule over the animals there. Eve was created as the "suitable" helper for Adam since none were found. God brought her to the man,

"This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh.

God made Eve specifically FOR Adam.

Genesis 1: 27-31 explains everything else.

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

I'm not a fan of the Adam and Steve argument myself, as it fails to cover lots of other things.

Glutton: I'm sorry you have a professor that is trying to indoctrinate you. I don't know who or what he stands for, but I can tell you for sure, that he is in the wrong. I have professors like this, and on the opposite extreme myself. I wish I had more neutral professors, but I know that won't ever happen. So long as I am in philosophy classes, and psych classes, I will be hit with those extremes daily. It sucks, I know. Everyone has their own religion. Everyone worships something, either a statue, a deity, or themselves. That's why I'm not a huge fan of religion myself. I believe religion is solely for one's own benefit. To live better, be kind, be peaceful. That's sort of selfish to me.

I hate my psychology class especially, there's no arguing a psychology professor... mine is always right.

It is meant to be "silly." God is not gay. God is not a man. God is not anything with regard to human ***uality. In reality god is not anything at all. In order for a "thing" to "be" it must have definable boundaries. If it is "everything", then it is "nothing" as well.

However, the above is just as valid an interpretation of the words as yours is. You have simply repeated the words. I have taken the time to place them into a context that explains the possible motivations behind the words.

Do some of that work yourself. Place the words into whatever "realistic" context you can. Try to figure out the "why's" of the chosen words.

Peace,
dave

well accourding to that Dave nobody is right am I right? lol

The fact of the matter is that no one can be certain what the exact meanings of alot of the script in the bible really are. But Dave you have to remember that you can change the meaning of just about any statement with that mentality by having your own biased belief system and interpreting it the way thay suits you best (christians do it im not going to lie). I do however believe that once Genesis is taken into context there is more than enough contextual clues to get the point across. I dont think god was gay there are a few statements in the bible that specifically talk about homo***ual acts as being sinful. But back to your mentality Dave and we can say that Jesus loves us so he must be gay because what man would die on the cross for another guy?

People have been twisting the words of the bible around for years.

Exactly my point. Place the context in which the words were written and they are ALL exposed as flawed. And yet people will kill, and die, and abuse others and themselves, because their particular interpretation of those words is different than another's or the words that they are interpreting are different than some others'

Peace,
dave

Actually, you will see that the context is correct, and consistent throughout the entire Bible. I'm not familiar with anyone who kills in the name of the Bible, but whoever they may be, they are not in line with the Bible's context, which does not change.

It annoys me to see people do terrible things in the name of another, when the name of the 'other' even has nothing to do with the deed, the 'other' still gets their name attached to the deed.

Haha. Forget learning about emotions, theory of mind, facial expressions, and an autistic persons mind-blindness... just call it all ESP and save a month of lecture.

If you think about it that way, maybe he isn't an idiot, he's just too lazy to teach that overwhelming amount of information.

So today he said, "we don't know very much about neuro-modulators and this is what I think is going on. When the CIA is researching something, they suppress public research on it. Any of you seen that movie men who stare at goats? Thats the kinda stuff that happens when you mess with neuro-modulators"

My face turned red from the sheer force of the facepalm.

She still has followers around the world.

Also you misunderstand "context." (Who, What, When, Where, Why, How) To simply say that the bible's context is correct is meaningless. It's context changes throughout the text. What was the context of the words written of "in the beginning"? What was the context of when those words were "interpreted and translated" last?

Peace,
dave
