That is the most BULL SHIT explanation I have ever heard I can't stop laughing, that's like telling someone who saw a UFO they were looking at the planet Venus . What environmental condition could exist in a certain house or building that makes our body produce this drug? And how could multiple people at the same time experience the same thing if it was drug induced? And how could the effect completely go away immediately just by stepping outside? I look forward to an explanation.

well for the NDEs I think he claimed that the body thinking its about to die could trigger it. he claimed in the book that the molecule was the catalyst for the soul entering and leaving the body, claimed production spiked at birth and death or when the body thinks its going to die. as for abduction, i cant remember how he explained it could be the endogenous DMT, stress or something. he probably is just going with this theory after noticing the persistent similarities between DMT trips and NDE/abductions. I'm not sure it accurately accounts for even one instance, let alone all of them, i just thought it was interesting

to go with your question:

how could multiple people at the same time experience the same thing if it was drug induced?

strassman might ask: why do an overwhelming majority of the people who do take the drug have such similar experiences, if the experience is a product of the individual's mind?

here's a relevent vid if any are interested.

anyway, its certainly the type of stuff to take with a grain of salt. often while I may think someone is wrong currently, they might still be on to something that is valid, its worth investigating imo. thats how lots of discoveries and theories came to be, the initial hypothesis was wrong, but investigating it led to discovery, often of something not even remotely suspected in the original hypothesis. I mean real research, not just doing psychedelics. it's moving away from the religion debate so I wont encourage/engage in further discussion. sorry.

NDEs cab be reproduced by various methods. It's perfectly normal for a dying brain to "freak out" a little.

I picked a few at random.

This one says the moon is probably only 10,000 years old because the dust layer is thin.

This one pre-supposes that the plagues of exodus are true, and tries to explain them. I quit reading after the sentence "It is possible that the plagues may have been hypernatural miracles".

This one is more of the same "anything complex must have been designed" garbage.

Please fully read and comprehend the articles before you refute them. I've read that article, it's a Q&A, and the author clearly supports old earth creation models.

This is true. The author was responding to a question, and, the question was from a new earther...and, the author explained that the new earther's reasoning was false.

The author is not a new earther based on his available body of work. The author, based on his body of available work, is a puddle jumper.

(Puddle Jumpers are the ones who keep making "The puddle's water fits the hole perfectly, therefore an intelligent designer must have made the perfectly shaped hole for that water" type arguments)

Ah, I've heard that one before too, that the six days of creation were not literal days but periods of time. but then the problem becomes that the plants were created before the sun. I might be able to believe plants could live with no sun for a day, but not any lengthy period of time. unless they photosynthesized with the "god light"

I also wonder why god made light and seperated it from night before he made the sun. where did this light not coming from either stars, the sun, or the moon go to? I do not remember reading a later verse where god realizes that starlight, sunlight, and moonlight negate the need for this original light and removes it, but maybe it's there.

is there a biblical explanation for the phases of the moon? I'd really like to hear it if there is. if it was made to rule over the night, why does it make cameo appearances all the time in the day? I mean, the sun stays the heck out of the night's affairs, so what gives?

USAbro, rejecting it is not the same as misunderstanding it. Article says:

bullshit argument

Cy: "It's bullshit"
Duke: "You didn't see the valid point!"

Here's another example:

Fish are mammals because the seventeenth moon of Venus has four gills instead of nine. Furthermore, furby vomit is haunted by eight AA-powered cat snakes because John Adams lost nine limbs when he converted to Judaism during the third solar eclipse of the month. Therefore, 4+3 is 7.

Cy: "Garbage"
Duke: "No no, he's right. 4+3 IS 7"

I think the problem is that the entire site is strewn with crap, so that while some of the crap is pseudo-supportable depending on context, its a bit like falling into a cesspool, climbing out, and wiping sheet off, and, someone says, wait, THAT ONE is really just some brown play dough!

Some times its harder to appreciate the play dough than others.

To be clear, what I read on this site DOES include science that is at least supportable, the authors generally scoff at the new earth/creationist time scales, and talk about the earth and astronomy in terms of millions and billions of years...and do refer to the principles that allowed humans to figure that out.

Where they jump off is when they allude and/or conclude with a Puddle Jump.

If not for the puddle jumping, for those who don't know anything about why the earth is billions of years old, and not a few thousand, and/or is generally clueless about science, the site DOES have a lot of basic science that might help explain how things work.

If a few people read this stuff and realize that AT LEAST the earth is billions of years old, the earth rotates, and, it also orbits the sun, etc...its at least undoing SOME of the creationist's damage to our youth and the future of our country.

If they at least understand the science better, and might be able to get a good job w/o sounding like a moron, etc...and help the USA compete/lead in the global technology market place one day...I'd be OK with them saying everything they don't know yet "is magic" until they find out it isn't.

The space geek in me must point out that the moon does not emit light, and that moonlight is just reflected sunlight.

There is no escaping the sun... except on the new moon.

Though if getting uber technical, theres always light reflecting back to us off of Mars and Jupiter, so theres always some photons from the sun hitting Earth,

So what crap did you find?

@ Cyparagon

You spend all your postings tearing down theism, why not build up atheism so us theists can understand you better.

“It is impossible that any ill should happen to the man who is beloved of the Lord; the most crushing calamities can only shorten his journey and hasten him to his reward. Ill to him is no ill, but only good in a mysterious form. Losses enrich him, sickness is his medicine, reproach is his honour, death is his gain. No evil in the strict sense of the word can happen to him, for everything is overruled for good. Happy is he who is in such a case. He is secure where others are in peril, he lives where others die.”—Spurgeon
