Hello all and welcome to my thread.

I just wanted to say a few things and I hope I am not out of line by saying it. (Punish me if you must?)

Everybody here is so great! You are all so helpful and treat each other with respect (as you should!) and I just wanted to let you know I feel at peace here. We can all sit down and just talk about the things that interest us and help others. Everyone here helps so much no matter how small the help is. My expierences on here have been extremely terrific! There has been help when others were down, help when others were in trouble and much more.

I just wanted to say thanks and good job to all.

I came here mostly to buy a laser and well this place is just too nice to leave! There's too much to learn. So again I want to thank you all.

Feel free to share your experiences here aswell.

Well said bro. I am proud to be a member of this community. The fact that I am the only one in greece,or one of the few ( at least at my age, since i don't see any1 else from greece here who finished school or is still at ) who is in this hobby, motivates me to keep going with lasers. I learn things about lasers every day.Though with this WL retarded threads and the mess caused all around, I was about to have a vacation from the forum. However, I changed my mind, since I can't live a day without browsing lpf and posting :D

If I left lpf, I wouldn't have anything else to do with my time  I've learned a lot in my short time here. I (usually) learn something new every day.

I feel the same way.
LPF has some of the nicest and most helpful members of any forum I have ever come across. It's truly like a family. I'm lucky to have found this forum. :D

I do think the moderation at times is a bit heavy handed for me to return that sentiment truthfuly.

The moderation here, just like in any family is necessary, and has been proven to be fair. Families needs to stick together, and therefore must be justly protected. Some might claim that our "godfather" is too strict, but I can only say that he fits the bill well.

We had a lot or arguments, flames, trolling, spam, and useless post before the Mods stepped in. And truthfully Avery couldn't pick 3 mods that were more fair then the ones we have now. To be honest, I've never been on a forum that had such small mod intervention. Well, except 4chan.

Plus they have made an old troll feel right at home. And that says a lot in my book.

Family? I don't know, that's a strong word. Well structured community? Definitely. Have I gotten a lot of benefit from LPF? Absolutely -- enough to donate twice now. (and more to come.)

Would anyone here save me from a burning building? Heh.. Sure! If that building were the CNI factory. :)

Pfft, yea like saving you from some "burning building" is gonna get me your 612nm...

You're taking that thing with you to your grave for use in the afterlife :p

(or, considering the nature of most LPF-ers, the post-mortem-atheist-nothingness ;))

Yeah, it's a nice community of like-minded folks, many tinkerers here, electronics enthusiasts and science geeks. I feel right at home at LPF.

A great bunch of people here, and not too many unpleasant people (I'm glad they mostly get booted off pretty quick). ;)

There will be some agruments, like in any family, but overall, i've noticed that I frequent LPF more than any other forums, simply because there is so much information, friendly interaction and eye candy. If I wasn't so broke i'd have a monstrous collection of various lasers!

I think its more like the Smurfs. We have Dave as Papa Smurf, IgorT as Brainy Smurf, JayRob is Handy Smurf, I'd be Grumpy Smurf, CJay is Lazy Smurf, and Hallucynogenyc is Smurfette. Gargamel is BobH, and Deranged is his cat Azrael.

You should have seen this place during the 2 year period when this place didn't have mods, it was a mess here. Constant flame wars and drama would take over many threads and it got so annoying.
