I found some incredible pictures of consequential lightning that is coming from the volcano that has been grounding the European airways. I honestly didn't even know this kind of stuff could happen. It almost seems fake, I just can't imagine what it would be like to see this stuff in person.

I never knew Volcanos had lighting storms involved with there eruptions. I'm guessing this is what the earth looked like when it was being formed

Lightning is quite often associated with eruptions of this type but these photos are the most spectacular ones I've seen of it.

Those are some awesome pictures - all those microscopic bits of rock and ash rubbing together make a lot of static electricity
