Listen don't beat yourself up over it. You have a right to be upset. Yeah I noticed he used a rep team against Mr. Laserbee.
Cyparagon has repped hundreds of 1 post members specifically... which is odd in itself. Only reason I can think of is because he doesn't want people to notice his rep abuse. He says rep means nothing to him and yet the proof shows otherwise.
I mean I've personally been looking all over for his reps and found none so I had thought he was hacking the forum then after some discussions I learned about the 1 post members and sure enough there they were in plain sight. Literally hundreds upon hundreds of them. These members haven't been active since 2006-2009 so they're well buried which is probably why he chose to use them.
But hey it's just a little neg rep so don't worry about being a bad guy. I'm sure everyone here can vouch for you as being a great asset to the forum.

I appreciate your support and made my round of reps today so in about another day I can rep you back. I think he takes away 4.15 points now?

Yep, it's a weapon for him now to be able to take so many away from some one each time, he negged me into less than zero when I first started here. Thanks, if you ever see anyone he has negged from here on out let me know and I will begin building theirs back, this is the only way to make his negs useless.

The only reason I can think Cyparagon was repping one post members, or old dead accounts which are no longer active, is he didn't want to positive rep active members very often, but wanted to be able to neg others as much as he wants. The only way he can do that is to look for old accounts to use up all 20 of the people he has to rep before he can neg a single individual again.

He's the reason I haven't written any reviews on the last 6 lasers I've bought in last 3 months. :/

I think it would be very fun and educational but I don't want to get made fun of and neg repped just because I don't know how to check a "voltage drop per millisecond delay of the driver ramp mode overload 445nm sag infinite thermal activity.... measurement". 0_o

I already received three messages from other members who want to post complaints about Cyparagon's attitude here but they are afraid he will neg them, I'd just as soon get rid of the system but since we can't, I will just positive rep anyone he negs from now on until I give back twice what he has taken away.

I'm sorry to hear that. This kind of thing hurts our hobby.

I would also suggest we report this behavior as much as possible. Maybe the admins will eventually do something with enough complaints.

It is indeed unfortunate what is happening these days.

I remember when I was young, I would go outside, spend 1 hour MAX on the computer and enjoyed having a cabin in the backyard I could jump off and swing ropes from a tree near it. Look at the world nowadays..... it's sad guys, it is. Getting a little teary typing this

Im trying to do my part. Decided to treat everyone with the up most respect, using Sir & Mam unless they do something which leads to respect not being earned. While traveling to France this holiday I took a picture of the cabin where I spent most of childhood in. It's now mostly covered in vegetation but memories remains from my childhood. Technology is great, but today it's all about being noticed, posting everything about your life, being rude, creating enemies, it's sad. I was fortunate to have some of my childhood before all this started.

Thing is, it isn't too late to go back, IT ISN'T. The truth in my eyes....the way humans are progressing isn't the right way. Look at the world around us, it's a mess. I've met some people at my work who still believe in caring for one another and being kind, which in a way keeps me going.

I don't post much, but im here for you guys if you ever need someone

We are all not the same, well we mostly have our heads on top and our feet on the bottom, but personalities are different.

Cyp can be direct and to the point, it's just how he is, sure he could be softer...but I have grown to appreciate his directness and it makes me think before I say something stupid or he will school me and actually I like that, it makes me smarter, it makes me think before I say and I see value in that.

I like you Alaskan, your a good person I can tell, I hope we will always be friends.

We need to try to accept people as they are, we all have faults, I am think of some of mine, I am thinking of some of you guys that I have seen.

So I ask myself, would I rather someone correct me harshly and really inspire me to do better, of glad hand me and I learn nothing?

When I first started talking here I said I heat sink my inductors and so far have gotten away with it and Cyp said " That's like a drunk driver saying he has been driving drunk and getting away with it, that doesn't make it right."

I wanted to be offended but he was right, so I put aside my pride and now I think more and try to eat less foot, knowing he is there to jump on me if I spout out something stupid makes me think first and give good info.

I know there is a balanced and everyone has their pride, but there is a difference as to weather someone has something to offer in their criticism.

Do we all want to go around thinking wrong and learning nothing out of being over polite...no.

Do we all want to jump each others case for each mistake...no.

But ask yourselves, how many things did you say that were not quite accurate or more opinion than fact before you got a harsh correction from Cyp?

I watch and I do not see him jump on every single thing, I have gone back and corrected something I said realizing my mistake and I know others have too.

If I am dead wrong about something I would rather you guys tell me than worry about my feelings, my feelings would be more hurt if I thought you all were patting me on the head while thinking how stupid I am.

Michael Rosen inspired me to learn the difference between man made diamonds, Cubic Zirconia, and Lab Corundum today by asking me if I knew what I was talking about in what I said in the pics thread. Thank you Michael + rep, now I do know the difference.

Is that why you havent shown your new beast. Any review to me no matter how limited always gives me at least an idea. Not every member can or even have the tools to measure "flux capacitor drop through nano seconds" yes im a noobie but learning every day. I dont care or am too embbarrest that im still learning either because I have other interests that I think im good at. This is a hobby and not my life and I think people on this forum that do this for a living tend to "forget" its a hobby forum. Look at the response you got when you posted your thermal image pics, as im sure you were a bit nervous. Just post a review and do your best and the next one might be better only if you feel it has to be. This sentence might be a bit corny but I see you as a vet compared to what I know "there I said it":beer:

That is very good insight RC, and I appreciate you saying this, because it is true. It definitely does help us learn and correct our mistakes time and time again.
The only problem I have is that probably my biggest core belief is respect. If one violates that to someone else for no clear reason it bothers me, which, I know, is my own provocative and personal downfall when dealing with others whom may not possess that same belief, and I am working on that.

About podo's 3x Expanders: I was just looking at those again last night and I am seriously wanting one now! I will probably buy one when my income taxes come back in a month or so!

Haha I appreciate that GSS! And you're right, I should just do it, no matter what!

It is a hobby forum, and I'm sure some people do forget that from time to time as they get a little upset when someone makes a noob mistake. But this whole forum is the only reason why I know anything I know.

Wouldn't circumventing the Rep system and using a "Rep Team" as you put it be considered an "Exploit"? Wouldn't this be a ban-able offense? I will say I am not accusing anyone, nor am I saying I researched any of the "claims" that have been made. I am asking a simple question.

However, after seeing you've admitted it was bogus, I have to apologize for my wording, and the rep. I should have waited to see how you responded first. I'd give you a +8 to counter that, but you'd consider that rep abuse

Was that an apology? I couldn't tell with all of the sarcasm. More and more your hypocrisy is being noticed.
For those who haven't they see you as a person who cares only about facts which is a bunch of bull. You specifically stalk people and ruin them. There's quite a few members that I've talked to who have been harassed by you despite you being in the wrong about their products.

You aren't as smart as some think you are. Someone came up with a name for you and I find it hilarious. "The master of quoting Wikipedia and Google"

What is this focus on "rep"? If a point is valid or invalid this can be debated, supported, corrected or even ignored. The rep of the individual that presents some information should not be used as a surrogate for evidence or reason.

I've noticed that most of the people who say rep has no meaning actually focuses a lot on it. Not everyone mind you but most. I'm sure everyone here gets a little happiness when they get a plus rep
