^ Hm ..... Sagan was exagerating ..... you don't need to reinvent the whole universe ..... you just need to build a new working natural law that say that when you cook a certain quantity of scraps for a certain quantity of time, the result is an apple pie ..... much easier than reinvent all the universe, right ? .....

The following are all quotes from Ralph Waldo Emerson.

A chief event of life is the day in which we have encountered a mind that startled us.

Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss.

Death comes to all, but great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold.

For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

"It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man’s mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion; for while the mind of man looketh upon second causes scattered, it may sometimes rest in them, and go no further; but when it beholdeth the chain of them confederate, and linked together, it must needs fly to Providence and Deity."

Sir Francis Bacon from Of Atheism

"The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being."

Isaac Newton

Both science and religion wage a "tireless battle against skepticism and dogmatism, against unbelief and superstition" with the goal "toward God!"

Max Planck -1937 lecture "Religion and Naturwissenschaft"

"I want to know how God created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details."

-Albert Einstein

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

-Albert Einstein

"To what extent are you influenced by Christianity?"
"As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene."
"Have you read Emil Ludwig’s book on Jesus?"
"Emil Ludwig’s Jesus is shallow. Jesus is too colossal for the pen of phrasemongers, however artful. No man can dispose of Christianity with a bon mot!"
"You accept the historical existence of Jesus?"
"Unquestionably! No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life."

-Albert Einstein being interviewed by the Saturday Evening Post in 1929

"I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangements of the books, but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God."

-Albert Einstein

"In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views."

-Albert Einstein

There's some "balance" for ya. ;)

“Choose silence of all virtues, for by it you hear other men's imperfections, and conceal your own.”
“We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
“The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact than a drunken man is happier than a sober one”
“Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness, but it is greatness.”
“Human beings are the only animals of which I am thoroughly and cravenly afraid.”
“You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'”

There are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Ducktape is like the force. i got a dark side and a bright side and holds the universe together

doubt leads to fear. fear leads to anger. anger leads to hate. hate leads to the dark side and thus, cool lightning powers!

It takes over 200mhz to run 95 properly, and it took 6mhz to fly to the moon!

"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair."

artificial intelligence usually beats real stupidity

Time travel is impossible.but i won't bet on it as the guy might be from the future and he'd already know that he's going to win.

Common sense is not so common

Too poor to continue.... Too ignorant to know better.... So, I shall keep on

To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.

"Catch a man a fish, and you can sell it to him. Teach a man to fish, and you ruin a wonderful business opportunity."

The difference between genius and stupidity is that the genius has the limits.
