One of my friends (who will remain nameless) has been diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer; it's a particularly potent variety that can also attack younger people.
After some serious thought, I've concluded that I would like to give them a kidney if need be (they need a young kidney since it's not desirable to put an older organ in a young person). My question to you is - if one of your kids told you that they wanted to do this, how would you react? I won't say I'm nervous to discuss this with them, I'm just... actually I kind of am. Dunno.
Also, do any of you have experience with living organ donors?
