Ehh folks, I'd like to ask for your attention here please,

I'd greatly appreciate of somebody can fill me in on this Justin Bieber guy, I see from Wiki that he is 16 year old (and apparently does not yet aware that he is NOT black).

Now, I haven't actually listened to anything he sang so far and stuff because I prefer some distorted electric guitar riffage music than that.

So basically, why is he hated so widely? Then again , popular, because in the clip Ranged posted it's a full hall of people coming to see his performance obviously.

And where the hell did he come from and become famous?

P.S. The "aoouch" reaction to bottle headshot is kind of explaining stuff but if somebody can tell me who is he and why is he talked about like so, I'd appreciate it :S

He's a Canadian singer with an unusually high-pitched voice for a teenager who is very popular among young and teenage girls, which is also why he's hated by most guys (guys always seem to find a way to hate other guys who are popular among girls). He was found when his parents posted Youtube videos of him singing and performing on stage (he also plays the drums). Usher has since taken him under his wings and showed him the path to stardom.

He's just the latest in a long line of pop singers, Lief Garret, Donny Osmond etc. that have high female early-teen/tween appeal.

Someone once did a psychological piece that explains why girls of that age go so ga-ga over "cute" effeminate emasculated males. Mainly it's because they're just beginning to explore thoughts/fantasies of male-female relationships, and the squeakiest effeminate male is "safer" in their minds to deal with.

Essentialy, to have puppy-love you, well... need a puppy.

The androgynous male pop-star filling this role always becomes a target for hatred/parody/backlash because people instinctively understand the ephemeral nature of their fame, and the underlying lack of substance.

It's made worse because he kind of comes across as a male-bimbo in interviews. He's not an exceptionally "deep" person.

It's funny though, the "Beeb" already looks older than in those other videos of him getting smashed by a water bottle.

He's got to hope he stays "cute" long enough to make bank, or had better figure out how to change his look/sound to appeal to older audiences.

Although as to the "hard" looks on their faces, I can sympathize. Mrs. Dual and I have two sets of twin girls born less than a year apart, and we got a lot of complete strangers giving us the "ZOMG! LOOK!" and pointing, taking pictures of us to show their friends. So with the exception of the fame or the money to compensate for it, I do know getting that treatment wherever you go in public gets old quickly.

So I see, guy actually did nothing wrong to piss somebody off. People just hate him out of principle.

I'll be neutral in this point of view. Not likin', but not hatin' either.

And many lulz at ElektroFreak. Pop a cap hahah :D

I think most people hate him because he doesn't really have any talent. Slap on some autotune and you have a recording contract :p
