So today my Itouch started acting weird. It said " Ipod Disabled, Connect to itunes"
so i try doing that and itunes says you need to enter the passcode on the iPod but there is not passcode screen at all. I tried restoring each way possible, holding sleep, home button don't work. I tried holding home button while plugging in the usb cord. Nada !!
What should i do. Also i dont have a receipt for this. i bought it off my friend.

Should i call Apple ?

Get the info about it off your friend, including receipts, time/date of purchase and basically anything you can get from it.

Call up Apple and explain your situation (unless you or your friend stole it, in that case I would decide against doing this)

Usually they will check the serial number on the bottom back of the ipod, and they may have you send it in to be repaired under warranty.

Friend said he has no receipt what sop ever. I checked the serial number on the Apple website and it appears to be out of the standard 90 day warranty and it cost 30$ just to call them ! I can make a receipt if i wanted to but that would not be fair i guess.
Noo !! Maybe he did steal it ? i have no idea.
I appreciate the help tho ;)

My $$ is on you/your friend decided to jailbreak it, and then it reset. Look up how the current redsn0w hack works.

With Apple products, a receipt is useless - AFAIK they just use the serial number

If you jailbroke it you're on your own.

If your friend does not have any receipts it's likely stolen.

Good luck with that.

You can phone apple for FREE! I've done it before many times with my 1st gen. I also have a friend who works at the apple store who helps me even after softmod jailbreaks. That guy's awesome.

Ok. Number one, when you get that message it means there's been to many ring passcode attemps. Prolly stollen.
Number two,to the guy that said search redsnow, youmust not no what you are talking about, that is for the 2G,his is the old iPod.

As to how to fix this problem....plug it in to your computer and click restore in itunes. Jailbreaking did NOT cause this problem,as mine is hacked and there's no way that screws up your stuff.

Tried pluging into my computer with itunes open. Says it wont connect without the iTouch being unlocked with the pass code.

try this, turn iPod completly off(hold top button until you see slide to poweroff) THEN hold the home button and plug it into the USB,keep holding until you see in power back on.

Tell me if this works.

Nope. It goes to the regular menu where it says " Ipod is Disabled" i tried holding it for exactly 10 seconds. Nothing at all happened.

Ugh LOL what a strange iPod you have!

Anyways
Connect iPod to computer. Try this, hold home and power at same time until(with iPod ALREADY ON)it turns off let go of power but KEEP holding the home button for about 10-15seconds. That should work
