There's a neighborhood here in Southern California that is pretty over the top during the holidays. My wife discovered this place the other day, so we went to go check it out tonight. I have to say that I was totally blow away.

Apparently the guy who started it used to work at Disneyland or something, and somehow wrangled his entire neighborhood into setting up a coordinated Christmas light display... 13 houses (and counting), set to music that is broadcast over the radio. Tune into 89.1 FM in your car and drive down the road, or park and walk with the rest of the throng. We're talking fire pits here, coffee and hot cocoa made available, big sound system; you can even scan the illuminated welcome sign with your smart phone which takes you to the official Facebook page.

Here's a couple of videos from YouTube, but they really don't do it justice. If you're at all in the area I'd definitely recommend taking the family to check it out.

As ridiculous as this sounds I grew up on the street behind him. I can't recal the number of lights he used as I moved five years ago. He's coordinated with more neighbors for sure because about 5 years ago it was his house and all his stuff spilling into his neighbors yard. Never thought I'd see it again! Thanks for the memories.

lol oh man, that is crazy. I would really like to know how he talks neighbors into becoming part of the show, or if they are just like, "Please take me!!"

There's another good one not to far if he still does it. I'll look up a street address and get back to you.

LOl the whole neighborhood bought lights so that the whole show is synchronised.. Now add a laser projector somewhere and it would be the most epic decoration ever :D

I feel sorry for the person who puts them up and takes them down every year.

I'm not putting christmas lights up because the wife always makes me take them down.

that's pretty awesome though

I guess they had the entire thing done and ready to go on the day after Thanksgiving. I hope he had a couple of people helping him, it's a ton of work.

I don't like putting lights up, and hate taking them down even more, but I did it anyway this year. It took me forever. It was very depressing pulling into my driveway and seeing my meager light display after walking through that winter wonderland. :cryyy:

There is a guy in the next town over from me who puts up tons of decorations like that. He has over two acres covered in lights and blow-ups and decorations right along the road.

I'm pretty sure he just leave the lights up cause there are some +50ft trees with lights strung all the way to the top. There is no way he could take those down every year.
