Evacuation and caution is proper in coastal areas, but I think whenever there is any kind of inclement weather americans tend to panic far too quickly.

Went to shoprite today, holy crap, it was a madhouse!

Same thing whenever there is more than an inch of snow predicted.

All that said though, hope everyone makes it though ok.

@Limecat - Charging my batteries... waterproof lasers are so much fun in bad weather at night.

Btw, anyone ever swim in a summer thunderstorm at night? It's a lot of fun. Just make sure there is a better lightning rod than your head somewhere nearby:p

I have to admit... there is a part of me that's really hoping for a short blackout or say 2-3 hours:p

I'm actually about 20 minutes from NYC... over in NJ, inland on a slight rise, so I'm not overly worried. There is a small brook about 200 feet away from me, but it would have to rise by 20 feet in order to reach my apartment.

My closet does have 10 gallons of water, first aid kit, flashlights, 10 mre's and whole bunch of canned goods. I'm good:p

Edit: I am preparing though, two chargers going right now for the laser batteries:eek:

Make sure your laser's are safe! Put them in a 24k solid gold case, to keep them safe from water.
