I will take that as good news- sending patients home sooner - even if they must come back later is a somewhat new trend- and has been successful- I sometimes felt they keep us there longer to pad the bill- IDK but I am all for going home asap-- and like busman wrote- we hope you can be allowed the time to be truly ready to return to work-

Sometimes they have trouble imaging the stroke damage. My wife had a series of strokes, and it took them almost a YEAR to find the damaged areas and diagnose how it occurred.

Her damage was to the left side of her brain, so the right side of her body was paralyzed, etc...the opposite of yours.

After the initial stroke damage, she suffered from aura related collateral damage, which is analogous to the wave of current that flows out in migraines, and can actually mimic stroke symptoms. It got to the point where we couldn't tell the auras from the strokes, and she had hundreds of TIA sized strokes.

The brain does learn to rewire itself, so, if you have some functionality, it does tend to get better with time. It may not come back 100%, but, as you age, nothing's EVER 100% anyway.

:D

My wife went from paralyzed on left side, and not being able to talk, to now being able to walk and talk, and if you didn't know about her strokes, you may not notice anything unusual anymore.

Hang in there buddy!

Thank you all for you kind words.. They ruled out a stoke because the did not find the tattle tell signs of a bled. I have tremors in my left arm and leg and it happens at random times. I may end up losing my job over this but we shall see monday.. IF not for some money that i got from school we would be hurting.. Any way. I am still really wore out. doc was me to take it easy if i do get to keep my job and cut the hours back a little for a week or two. They think it was one of three things (A) chemical exposure (B) stress not likely (C) the have not a clue.. so that is what is going on and I am grateful for your friendship and support

Well that's not good Jeff and to add some extra stress you are going to lose your job! We have laws here to stop Employers doing that in situations such as yours. I guess though your immediate concern is to find out what is wrong and get well again. Hope it is soon mate!

I hope they are sending you to specialists to sort out an actual diagnosis and treat it.

You have a serious set of symptoms that could be due to many other things beside stroke. Could be vascular related, neurology related etc..

Just saying we don't know what is causing it and sendng you home sounds a bit unusual.

Would guess you can get State disability or unemployment depending on situation if not able to work or if fired, hopefully.

it is more common now days because they do not have the time to treat patients like me who have multi symptoms and no real cause so they guess and send you home

How are you paying for this? Here it costs $10,000 a day to be in the hospital and almost as much for a trip to the ER. I hope you have good insurance and wont loose it with your job. My mother had a stroke in March of 2012 and it cost many 10's of thousands of dollars and recently all medical expenses have gone way up as did the monthly cost of her insurance. She is 89 and will never recover. My father had a stroke at my age and almost fully recovered then died years later in 1992 of a heart attack. I hope you will recover soon, it sounds like a stroke or else some neurological problem. The last times I saw a doctor were trips to the emergency room in 1991 and 1992 and the costs ruined my life for a long time. I have nearly died several times since but fortunately recovered. Best of luck to you and your family.

Hopefully he will have a big fine to pay next year unless you are working for a very small business. I guess I too will have a fine for not buying insurance that I can't afford right now by the deadline. They weren't even asking your income on that Washington state exchange, only your total household income of everyone in your household so they can overcharge multi income families.

Sorry to hear that it is not turning out as you like, sounds like the health system and the work system you are under SUCK! Really do hope you make a quick recovery though!
Don't worry about the package yet, it will take at least a week to get from where I live to get to a major post office in Melbourne or Sydney before it even leaves OZ!

Update: well I did indeed lose my job. But it was a mutual decision! It what was best for my health and well being and what was best for the farm. He was kind enough to offer me a two week severance package which was more than i expected! so I have all my bills for jun paid and have just a little left in my account at the bank not much mind you just a little. So i have filed for unemployment and he is going to help me with that and write me a letter of recommendation as well. so I will not be buying much here for a while till I have a job but thanks guys for the support

Dang

There is help out there- but it takes tiime to make happen- so.. apply for everything you can- all they can say is they cant help- There are agencys that ]can help- food bank - help with utility bills- free meds from the Pharm houses ( they give away the older stock)- APPLy now for SSI- medicare AND medicaid- A farm manager with eight children does not just deserve help he as earned it.-- Forget them- wasted energy to bitch about that-(others NOT 'vortish')--

There are many more 'jobs' like his where it just happens that way-

If you want links- or a list let me know- as i said these kinds of help take a long time to get approved- Quickest help comes form those that help with 'emergency' situations-
which sadly you may be in very soon.- they cannot turn off you water or electric for non payment is such times. We wan to help also-- IMO it does not matter how long you have been here- anyone wanting to know more can PM me or Mac

Re=apply every time you are denied- as long as you keep applying they have to bef=gin your payment based on your first application- so when you are approved you get many months of back payments-

An in-person visist to some of them is good to get into the system is a good way to begin- after that much can be done on-line from home-
