Hi laserfriends, I broke my foot.

On Sunday it has been snowing heavily in my area. I took 10 steps outside and slips away. My left foot has folded inward and broke my ankle.
The surgeon put a metal plate on the bone and secured it with 5 screws. :cryyy:
I am out for 2 month now and anything will be slowed. Even building lasers. :whistle:

They put a hard case around my foot to immobilise the joint.

Well you have more time around the house now to think up ideas! I hope you got some good pain meds!

That totally sucks, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Good Luck, at least you don't have to do the shoveling in the near future

Damn, sounds like it hurt like hell and fully aware of what just happened. At least I was half drunk when I broke my ankle.

Get well soon and try not to do too much

Also, it could've been worse. A lot worse. So have a cold one :beer: because you still can!

You do know... when you told your wife that you were going outside to shovel the snow and she said "break a leg!". She wasn't being serious right?

In any case I hope you get better well and hopefully you have help from everyone to get round. Sorry to hear about the fall :(

Ouch. It makes me cringe just thinking about the fall and your ankle taking a hit severe enough to cause the breakage. My condolences.

As others have suggested, you'll have more time around the house, now, to play with lasers. Use it wisely and develop a new breakthrough we can all enjoy. :)

Ouch!! Sorry to hear of your trouble. Metal plate sounds like a serious break---did you break the small bones in the ankle group or the lower leg/calf bones going to the ankle?

Have slipped on ice --happen so fast that you do not have time to correct.

Wishing a speedy and complete recovery. Be careful--protect the injured area.

Ouch that sucks mate! I can imagine that being a crazy fall if it did that much damage! Hope you recover soon! :beer:
