It seems that PayPal/eBay has found another way to F$%k the
Sellers on eBay...

I've never had any problems on eBay or Paypal in the years
I've been there...
I just sold an item on eBay and the buyer has sent his
payment and I received this New enchanting message...

PayPal and eBay are working together to ensure buyers have a great experience when they shop on eBay. As part of this effort, for some eBay sellers who are establishing a successful selling history, funds from eBay sales will show as Not yet available in their PayPal account for a period of time before the funds become available. This applies to items listed and sold on eBay.ca and eBay.com. Learn more

Checking a little deeper it seems I'm a lousy seller not up to their
F&$cking idiotic seller standards....
Here is my eBay DSR....

Item as described......... 4.9 out of 5
Communication............. 4.9 out of 5
Shipping time................ 4.8 out of 5
Shipping and handling
charges......................... 4.7 out of 5

Average of 4.875 out of 5 that is 96.5%.

When I was in school a passing grade was 60%...

Because I suck (according to PayPal) as a seller I can't get my
funds for 21 days... or until the item is proven delivered...

Are they out of their F@$cking minds...

Like I'm going to ship something out on credit....
Wake up and smell the coffee PayPal.....:gun:
F^&king morons... It's not enough they gouge the eBay sellers
with their high fees and exchange charges...but now they want
pocket my money for 3 weeks after they charge me fees for the
transaction...

Time to look for other payment options.... :finger:

4.7 on shipping. Man you suck. My worst is 4.98.:na:

With ebay on shipping you are screwed if you do and screwed if you don't. If you don't offer first class international they will slam you on shipping costs. If you do offer it they will slam you on delivery time plus you have to deal with a bunch of people telling you their last package from the US got there in seven days and there is no reason this one should not have arrived yet. You can not win.:scowl:

Re: Heads Up.. PayPal the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

PayPal/Ebay needs to realize that without sellers, there will be nothing for buyers to buy on eBay.

Of course it is a far ways away from that scenario, but the principle stands. Alienate your sellers and the market will degrade.

I stopped selling on eBay years ago after a transaction went south and I was parted with my hard earned money. I restored an antique recorder (blokflute) from pre-WW1, and sold it on eBay. It arrived safe and sound to the buyer, a week goes by, he requests a return, I complied, got it back and it was destroyed because the buyer decided he didn't like how it played and tried to modify it. I complained to the eBay/PayPal gods, but they sucked the money out of my account anyway and stated that any damages to a returned item must be visually provable to their team. Well that's fine for a lamp or a picture, but in a precision instrument where movement of a thin wood ramp of a micrometer makes the difference... sorry you can't see that with your eye. I wound up tossing the recorder in the fireplace and swearing to never sell on eBay again.

LasersBee, PayPal isn't holding your private transactions' funds, right? On your website and all it's still sane, correct?

I fear something link this happening to me on eBay. I got my first negative feedback the other day, and I was quick to pull all money out of my PayPal account.

I see the death of eBay and PayPal soon. It's sad, but I find Craigslist a much better option then eBay any more. So much so, I can't remember the last time I bought or sold something on there.

I can never buy anything from LPF cause I have to use my brother's paypal. Having $200 in a paypal account isn't good enough cause it has to be linked to "something" now. Funny thing is I bet all the scammers on Ebay will be fine....f!@#ing BS

Wow, Same thing happened to me and I have 100 percent postive feedback. They said "We must hold your payment for 21 days before it is released" and it SUCKED. If you get it and have no negitive feedbacks, it should go away in a few months like what happened to me.
Check me out on ebay as proof:

Re: Heads Up.. eBay the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

Most recently, Paypal put a 5-day hold on a *refund* for me. I couldn't understand this at all.

My money goes in --> to other person.

An hour later:

Other person refunds my money ---> bounces back to me.

... and they put a 5 day hold on it.

What? The money was out of his paypal account, and was originally funded (and cleared) via my bank account. But still a 5 day hold? To make sure of.. what? I can't even think of a scenario here...

Re: Heads Up.. PayPal the F%$king GREEDY PIGS.....

I just got of the phone with PayPal and eBay....(~1hour)
It seems my PayPal account status is exemplary and my
eBay shipping status needs to be 4.8 instead of 4.7...
Holly Crap.... I'm a criminal.....

They implemented this idiocy in June of 2011 when my DSR
was worse yet only today when my DSR is much better (but
still under their "holier than thou" standards) do they decide
to hold my funds.

I told eBay that I will not ship on credit... The funds must
be in my hands before I ship a product.
I told them I would contact the buyer to tell him he needed
to wait 21 days or I'll send him a refund.
I told them that I would then tell the buyer to contact eBay
and PayPal to lodge a complaint about holding his payment...

I told them that this way eBay and PayPal will loose any fees
associated with this or any other transaction that is placed
on hold and that they will spend their time refunding all fees
collected... so no-one wins...

I'll need to mull this over....:undecided:

4.7 on shipping. Man you suck. My worst is 4.98.:na:

The problem started when eBay removed the Neg Feedback to
buyers. That gave the buyers "cart blanche" to Neg Feedback
the seller for the smallest thing.

There should also be a DBR (Detailed Buyer Rating) to put some'
of the outrageous buyers in there place.

LasersBee, PayPal isn't holding your private transactions' funds, right? On your website and all it's still sane, correct?

Since my PayPal account is in good standing there would be no
hold on funds coming in from sources other than eBay.

I've already contacted the eBay buyer with a refund offer...;) :eg:

Glad to hear it's fine outside of eBay at least.

I rather like PayPal outside and away from eBay. Convenient for party to party private business, safe for when you don't quite trust the seller/website, and allows for refunds without having to go through your credit card company. I NEVER use my bank account for any payment though, ever. It would be a shame if PayPal started this 21day hold lunacy for all transactions.

Just wait it out... But it can take a few months. Make sure you get 100 percent on every rating from now on, and they will let you go sooner or later.

Man, that's crappy.

I no longer + rep any buyer now that doesn't + rep me first. I've recently started sending a note with all my packages to the effect of, "Thanks for your purchase. If you're satisfied with your experience please leave us positive feedback. I'll be sure to return the favor once positive feedback is received."

I've always thought that it was kind of a dick move when I got notes from sellers like that, but I've come to the realization that:

1) You're lucky to receive any feedback at all if you don't do so.

2) It keeps the first class international buyers from pulling a "I never received it" move.

3) It keeps people from flying off the handle and negative repping you for something that you may have no control over.

So far it's been working great.

Paypal/ebay have been progressively going power crazy since the start. There has to be a tipping point or at least a bigger drive for an alternate.

I only give Feedback after I know that the buyer has left me feedback.
When I ship an item I immediately send a Shipping confirmation message
and ask the buyer to send feedback to let us know he received the item
and we will do likewise for him/her.

I've received the same little notes about leaving 5 stars and feel it's like
begging for reps on the Forum.

I guess if that is the only way to suck up to eBay... I may try that even
though it rubs me against the grain in a big way...

In the mean time... I'll refund every sale I make that has the payment frozen
for 21 days and offer the same item to the customer by E-Mail (not the eBay
message system) through our website PayPal ID with a discount.
(This way we won't get hit with the Final Value Fee and can hand that back
to the customer as a discount)...

I don't think eBay has all it's ducks in a row or has thought this out very
clearly...

I completely agree. Take a look at my rant about this guy. tapas144: eBay Scammer. Best part is, he left me a negative feedback, I replied with a link to that.
