Have you ever crashed a private event, or vice versa? Let's hear those stories!

I'm just curious, has anyone here ever crashed a private event, such as a wedding, prom or conference? Similarly, have you ever hosted an event that was crashed? Let's hear those stories!

Personally, I wouldn't intentionally go to an event I'm not invited to; I think that's just tacky. But if I happen to be passing one and someone invites me in, then it's fair game.

Anyway, my stories are kind of lame, but here goes:

1. I was leaving a meeting at conference center when I passed a class reunion for Berkeley's Haas School of Business. I went to Berkeley for my undergraduate studies, but my major was not business. Nevertheless, one of the organizers say my "Cal" shirt and invited me and my parents (who were waiting outside) to stay and have some of their food. I didn't eat much as I already had dinner, but it was nonetheless a nice gesture on their part.

2. Someone unexpected brought one of their friends to our New Year's Eve party several years ago. It turned out to be a win-win situation as the guy happened to own a Baskin-Robbins store, and he treated all of us to some ice cream. :)

3. I was at a company party last year, and we had one of those inflatable castles for the kids. Some children from an outside family wanted to use it, but their mom told them it was for a private event. However, one of our HR managers was kind enough to let them go in.

Yep, pretty boring.
