I'm in Arizona, and a couple of years ago when all of the anti-gun talk was really getting bad, and individual states were being told to tighten their gun laws, AZ. went the opposite way. From what I recall, a couple of the things they wanted us to do was that people had to have a permit to own a gun, and ALL firearms had to be registered to the owners. That hasn't happened. In fact, AZ. went the other direction and made it legal to conceal carry without a CCW! Basically told the Government to stick it, in a round about way. AZ. is now referred to as "a hold out state" because we refuse to budge on these gun laws that they want pushed. The way it is going, I don't know how long these "hold out" states will be able to continue "holding out". But if more state officials had some balls, well.....

Anymore we live in a "squeaky wheel" nation, with celebrity presidents. And the people who squeak, are the people who are against something. So they're the one who get the attention. And God forbid that our President gets bad PR because a group of people didn't get their way!

When you say you just bought it, did you buy it locally? If yes, did you try it? If you bought it online and haven't received it, why did you buy it only to return it?

Red...it is funny how you hear people talk about home defense and they say they have handgun...Glock, Sig, whatever, or others an assault rifle. I have never figured out why when any LE person or expert in home defense will tell you that a pump...like you I prefer Mossberg...is best. No over penetration with a slug winding up in your neighbor's wall or worse in your neighbor. Even better, for five bucks you can legally make it a short barrel.

Lately, it seems that the AR15 has really taken much of the prestige away from the old pump shotgun. But when the price, muzzle blast from those dumb muzzle breaks that all AR's seem to have, and the difficulty of finding reasonably priced ammo (at least locally), I also lean toward the pump. However, if it was an "end of the world" type of situation rather than simple home defense we were talking about, then the AR would probably be a good idea.

So this came in today!

It's a Stealth Arms 80% 1911 Complete Build Kit which I had a couple options upgraded that are not available on their website. The quality of their parts has far exceeded my expectations. Now I just need to finish the frame and build it

Yep. It will not be leaving my collection anytime soon. I'll keep any type of WW2 era stuff I can get my hands on as long as it isn't theft. I'd really like an aircraft that is in flyable condition. That will most likely never happen unless I win the lottery though. I did get to fly in a Ju-52 that was built in 1936. The flight made a trip around Berlin.

^Jesus Christ.

Let me say Im glad I went to school when I did, which was in the early 2000's. We could bring a toy gun to school and have "pretend" shooting matches between one another, we could wear whatever we wanted without "distracting other students" and can even remember doing stupid dares in the cafeteria like mixing tons of different foods and making each of my friends eat it

Seems like everyday that goes by these people in power get more idiotic!

Yup, I used to carry a small pocket knife on me quite often, or multitool, while in highschool. Not for any sinister purpose, but it was useful to have. Now days that's an automatic 3 day out of school suspension

Used to also always have a small bottle with advil, benadryl, nodoz, and pepto bysmol, all in one tiny bottle. I'm betting if a kid got caught with that currently, it may well end up with cops being involved.

School administrations have gone absolutely bonkers ever since Columbine. Some security measures, I understand and fully support, like in general having guests only go through front door, to get buzzed in.

Others though, are just stupid, and do nothing to add to safety or education. This kid should not have even been warned IMO, unless she started playing with it in class, not during a break, or started making a mess.

I'm Pro gun. And, I'm pro laser. And, pro-freedom. This means that I believe that any sane non-criminal adult should be able to own whatever kind of gun or laser he or she wants and can afford. That includes machine guns and 500 Watt lasers. It's interesting, but I've participated in many discussions over the years about gun bans - obviously I'm against them. Now, I see the same kind of poor logic and reactionary arguments used by "government" to justify keeping high-powered lasers out of the hands of individuals. So, who should have access to guns and lasers? Government workers? They're just people, like you and I. Why should one group of people have instruments that can be potentially used for harm and not another law-abiding group? to me, rules and laws that perpetuate this type of class dominance is nothing short of tyranny.

We are 1 Supreme Court appointment away from losing the 1st and 2nd Amendments and that is a big deal, it means you get punished for what you say or type, and as retroactive is no longer off limits what we have said.....we all need to get in the street and be the squeaky wheels if the 2nd and/or 1st gets attacked, make them retract or nullify any new laws that violate our rights or we are all going to become slaves.....sound crazy, it's not.

Unfortunately that is the direction things are headed. The problem is, a lot of people are apathetic about guns. What I mean is they don't own guns, and don't particularly care about owning guns, so either abstain from the question of gun ownership, or worse, act from fear and lack of information.

What they fail to realize is the 2nd amendment is to a great degree what enforces the 1st.

The 4th amendment has pretty much been eviscerated already.
