Seattle has a new bullet tax that their court has upheld, 5 cents a bullet and you know how this works, it will just go up and up. Now Chicago is making noise about a bullet tax.
Many states do what's right because constituents lobby and insist, but when it comes to a revenue stream...well we can now have aerial fireworks in my state but with a extra 5% sales tax, no internet sales, this is on top of a 7% state tax and a special 3% add on tax for non food/medicine that I voted against that's been passed anyway.

So my Walmart fireworks had 15% sales tax....I can understand why people would want to stock up now. BTW Barry and his magic pen are busy today, waiting for the next royal decree......

Some people say, But ..... why would anyone NEEED a thousand bullets????
My glocks get hungry when target shooting and it's easy to burn through a few hundred rounds just punching paper with friends on any given weekend trip to the range, so I say stock up. If you reload your own, get busy before they tax the components too.

Yes just as they taxed tobacco out of range of the average person, and alcoholic beverages too are getting very expensive (something the government should probably subsidize instead of overtaxing) now they will do the same with ammo and probably guns too. Ammo is already way too expensive here, I quit target shooting years ago because it got too expensive. Now I live in a place where I can't even get to a shooting range anyway. Every gun owner with some extra money should get out there and buy ammo or a new gun while you can, I want to see lines out the door at gun shops and sporting goods stores. I hope there is a line in the sporting goods section at Walmart when I go shopping probably tomorrow, I hope people buy out everything. People should also buy parts and build guns that there is no record of so they won't know you have it.

Talking Re: Gun Discussion

Its also amusing to me (while still scary) that every time they try to inhibit gun use/ban something/regulate something to do with gun stuff, it triggers an immediate surge in buying of the gun stuff.

The mass buying of the stuff they wanted people to stop buying, to stop associated crimes, increased the amount of stuff they wanted to have less of out there....

...and, strangely, no associated rise in crimes, that the reduction was supposed to afford us protection from, ever materialized.

So, the theory was "More guns = more crime", with the solution being "Less Guns = Less Crime", and attempts to reduce the number of guns....

...which resulted in more guns instead of fewer guns...as people rushed to get them "before they were unavailable ever again..." etc.

If the theory was true, that increase in guns should then produce an increase in crime.

Instead, crime rates dropped.

Any chance of adjusting the theory?

My response to these people is the same reason YOU shop at walmart/costco/etc,. It's CHEAPER, and you do end up using whatever it is eventually, usually faster than expected. Not to mention saves a ton of time if you actually need that much of a given supply.

Unconstitutional infringements that circumvent congress and violate our Constitution Rights by Royal pen and phone are unjust and invalid, furthermore in my opinion they border on treason as said holder of the Royal pen has taken an oath to uphold our Constitution.

I can understand how a jury would fail to convict a citizen for civil disobedience when the " law " they are charged with breaking is nullified by the supreme law of our land, our Constitution and bill of rights.

I don't see how I could convict a fellow citizen based on an illegal, unjust, unconstitutional infringement, even if given instruction by a judge as to what the jury must do I know better, I am not a puppet, this is our country and I will see ye magic pen and phone and raise you our jury nullification and civil disobedience.

As Greg Guttfeild said on TV for all the world to see, screw this petulant prince.
We are not subjects of a dictatorship, we are a government of the people, by the people and for the people and our elected officials are only acting on our authority, it is in fact our power they are allowed to wield within the constraints of our established 3 branch system.

We have Sheriffs flat out saying they will stand against unconstitutional federal government overreach and we had better be ready to stand with them and defend our country from threats both foreign and domestic, and in my opinion tyrannical treason is a threat to our freedom that we as citizens must stand against.

It does bother me a great great deal that jurors, and potential jurors are not told explicitly about jury nullification, and that it is absolutely legal. Nor is a juror required to explain that they are returning a not guilty verdict due to disagreement with the law itself.

These would be the same exact sheriffs who have no issue whatsoever throwing someone in jail for say smoking a harmless weed for decades now?

Whatever happens you can expect cops to act as they always have, and always will. - In THEIR best interests.

Their interests are not the interests of most people. If they were, we would not have profit driven enforcement, which we most certainly do now.

If/when there is a gun grab, it will most certainly come from local cops first and foremost. Not too many will refuse when faced with the choice of keeping their jobs, or collecting the guns.

I have several 22 mag firearms and a mom and pop store here went out of business. They put the 50 bullet boxes on clearance for $3 each. Needless to say I bought 20 boxes! I used to hunt tree rats like crazy, put 4 or 5 in a crock pot. They are good to nibble on.
Glad I never bought a Weatherby, $4.35 a bullet is a real kick in the butt.

I try to be the good guy, heck I am the good guy, I feel good helping someone change their flat tire and I put up with a lot out in the world.

I almost always tell a pan handler no politely, twice even before I get loud.

I have also given up a lot to be the good guy.
I don't do a lot of fun stuff so I can be "legal" and I pay and pay.

But I draw the line at my front door, on my side of my front door is my sanctuary and if/when that gets violated I have something much more dangerous than a bunch of guns, I have knowledge and I am a stubborn SOB.

If one plans to rape me they had better kill me and if my neighbors are getting pillaged I am not able to cower with my fingers in my ears while it happens.

I wake up in pain most days, I'm getting older and I know my life will not go on forever, I don't have children. All I have left is a little peace of mind that I am secure in my sanctuary, so when the bastards take all that I have left away then I will have nothing left to lose.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@ Infinitus:
Most police don't want that job, most police are the good guys, but we are being divided intentionally.
In New York the citizens are mostly neutered and cops may be more thuggish, but around here cops approach homes very carefully and the ones I know are not afraid of me and my rifle, they are afraid of doped up kids with hand sized pistols they can't see easily.

I would bet the areas with the tightest gun control also have the most thuggish cops.

^^ Well said RedCowboy. I feel that in most situations it actually takes more energy to be a jerk than it is to be nice/kind and helpful.
I have never had a problem with harvesting an animal to put it in the freezer and on the table but I really don't ever want to have to pull the trigger on a human being but if they come busting through my door, screw that. They are an animal and they are getting shot! Thank God we can still protect our homes. I remember reading where that member from Europe stated that even in their own home they have to retreat. That makes me want to puke. I'll retreat alright, to retrieve a baseball bat to ring their melon with it.
Tried to +Rep you but I have to spread the rep around a bit :/

No, they are not. They are mostly people who were drawn to that line of work for the power it affords them. Even those who do it out of good intentions, are more often than not, corrupted by that power.

I wouldn't take that bet, but there are lots of examples where this is true, and others where it is not.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

But we should not lump every marine into one category, or every cop because there are good men who have empathy and respect for others and recognize that even though they are in a position of power that they are not above the law, some will have to discover it first hand, others will be smart enough and not put themselves in the wrong.

Most rookie cops have lessons to learn and many find balance in their work, but we are living in an ever expanding police state, however many police officers, such as those who are members of the oath keepers organization do stand shoulder to shoulder with citizens, military, ex military and retired police.

Police officers have mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives that they don't want to see mistreated.

I believe strongly in probable cause and citizens rights, this stop and frisk BS in New York is a communist police state violation of our civil rights, no citizen should be forced to stop at a sobriety roadblock or harassed in any way without probable cause, and most cops do understand that, most will back down when faced with a citizen who knows his/her rights, but I agree that a citizen shouldn't have to prove they know their rights for them to be respected....but driving a wedge between the people and their employees will not help, finding balance based on mutual respect will help.

As for the tyrannical fed utilizing the police to confiscate in mass that won't happen, I don't think the police could be mobilized to disarm the citizens because they are part of us and many know how they would feel and react if it was their home being invaded and they do have a conscious, plus they are severely out numbered.

No it would be a bastard army of elitists thugs all drunk on authority and equipped with armored vehicles and armored suits who come in numbers trained to use command presence and brute force, not our everyday brothers, sons and fathers and sisters in uniform who deal with irate troubled people every day, because they are familiar with pushback and know what they would be asked to do is wrong and how ugly it would get, if push came to shove because our police are greatly outnumbered and out gunned, and that is where the penny drops.

But this will happen slowly and one victim at a time while his neighbors peek out their windows wondering what their neighbor did wrong.

Laws will be passed making everyone a criminal and then anyone can be pulled over for speeding because most everyone already is, this will happen case by case to start with otherwise the masses will push back and it grinds to a halt.
It will start slowly and later once it becomes commonplace and the subjects become conditioned to being powerless, then you may see a ramp up of force, but it can't start out that way, 5% of us will not bend over and that would empower many others to stand up, this will be a slow attrition that picks up speed later as we slip into bondage.

I forgot the name of the famous writer, but it was written that dependency is the velvet glove that tyranny slips it's willing hand.

So as our paycheck becomes not enough to survive on and most need assistance we become dependent, when the power goes out and everyone's little hand held portal fails to function and groceries disappear from the shelves, many will do as they are told.

Also taking control of healthcare is a keystone of communism, this is not new to our world.

What the fuck country do you live in? Do you really live in Georgia? I have traveled to a total of 26 states, although I have not been to Georgia, and I have to admit that some of them are like a foreign country compared to here. The police here are not like ordinary people and they are much more likely to be criminals than the criminals are, they are mostly not good people, and are not here to serve and protect, if I encounter a police officer I consider them a threat.

I'm sorry that your police are that bad, around here there is still some mutual respect, or maybe I just know how to talk to them, and I live in a sh1t part of town, well going to sh1t.

This executive order crap is just icing on the socialist cake and a distraction, the real devious knives have been slipped in our backs without most of us knowing.

Alphabet agencies make rules that carry the weight of law and everyone ignores it, then they can crucify anyone they want and it's years of legal battle that with the supreme court stacked may be impossible to win.

Actually the BATFE XM-855 green tip 5.56 ammo ban had a comment period and it failed because of public outcry, after that Barry's stacked Supreme court changed that old rule so now our various alphabet agencies no longer have to do a comment period before making changes to existing rules and regulations. That's right, the now voiceless masses will have to follow the changes to rules that carry the weight of law without a chance to comment on the once proposed and now dictated changes to existing rules and regulations made by our various alphabet agencies......sigh

Having a mustache is not the same as = Hitler.

Canada is not really a communist state, and, yet, they too have health care.

The Veterans Hospitals, etc, are essentially the government taking care of citizens' health...and no one is yelling about the veterans' benefits being a precursor to communism, etc.

The only difference is what job the people had before they got their free health care.

If they worked for the military, a perk is free health care.

All nationalized medicine is, is expanding that benefit to other employees too. Lets face it, some veterans were desk pilots who never saw combat...and some cops, etc, may have been in more fire fights than some vets.

So I am 100% in favor of taking car of our vets, they deserve it....in fact, the care should be much better...but, letting them go to ANY hospital or care center, etc....would expand the scope and quality of those services, not shrink it.

That is also not communism.

Saying that people who can't afford health care can get help to pay for it is not communism either. There's no gov hospital for people on medicaid/medicare, etc....all Obama Care does, typically, is expand the coverage to those who can't afford coverage, and create a larger pool that includes more healthy people.

You have to have car insurance for example. (If you have a car in this example)

It's mandatory. There are fines for not having it. There are minimum coverages that must be included. If only people who thought they might be in an accident had to have car insurance, premiums would be higher.

Making those who are potentially less likely to make a claim, also pay into the pool, makes your car insurance premiums lower.

Its the same principle for health insurance.

Of course, especially in the US, our medical costs have been skyrocketing since the 80's.

I ensured my company back then, and a family policy might be a grand or 2 per year, and individual a few hundred.

In the 80's, the premiums started going to the moon...and it has not really slowed much.

The $100 aspirin is still $100 essentially, the insurance is paying it...and, the premiums for private policies are ALL reflecting that...before, and after, Obama Care.

The new "patients" do include a LOT of people who had not gone for care because they could not afford it. Many who had jobs with insurance before 2008 for example, lost their jobs when the economy crashed worldwide....and lost their insurance when they lost their job.
