3d printing will present a thoroughly paradox with regards to the gun debate. After all anyone will be able to order separate parts from different printers.

Yeah, the only part you really need to print is the lower receiver. After you have that you can easily buy the other parts for it. You don't even need to register it because you made it, and there is no serial number.

These are .5 to 1+ million dollar printers though. There is a lot of self regulation regarding weapons. Most large companies won't even 3d print a knife in metal. I'm curious to see what happens with this

Quote:
DHS investigators to use DNA testing to identify suspects and family relationships

The Homeland Security Investigations (HIS) unit of DHS is gathering information from prospective vendors who could perform deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) tests on samples collected from various individuals to help the agency identify family relationships, criminal suspects and more.

HSI issued a Request for Information (RFI) on November 8 that asks potential contractors to describe their technical capabilities in no more than 20 pages and to submit their responses by December 11.

“Homeland Security Investigations is comprised of Special Agents and support staff who need a better, more accurate and cost-effective way to identify individuals when fingerprints are not available or when a claim of family relationship needs to be proven,” says the RFI. “This need is also needed during criminal investigations where evidence is found and DNA is needed from the evidence.”
At present any person arrested - not convicted - also has their DNA taken. In fact an arrest can be made with the sole purpose of obtaining a DNA sample.

So now, you're guilty by association if someone with a close genetic match happens to do anything bad, or is even suspected of doing anything bad.

Now, in case that doesn't bother you, consider that dictators are very fond of maintaining control over people through threatening whole families as opposed to individuals.

I wonder why AR-15 style rifles are so popular. I for one appreciate a good 5.45 Kalashnikov. And yeah, while Kipkay is kind of an idiot, he's at a shooting range, while his gun and laser aren't pointing at anyone but that poor paper bastard.

One more thing, seeing as how Kipcrap has been using lasers for a while, does he really not know that a DPSS laser not made to deal with the recoil of a gun has a great chance of being ruined? Has he ever looked up info on DPSS lasers? I would've expected him to visit this forum at some point to learn words to sound smart in his videos.

Tell that to the victims of AR15 like guns related massacres. I am in no way against guns, in fact i love to go hunting once in a while... But while the gun is not technically an assault rifle it can EASILY be used as one, after all it is used for military purposes.
EDIT: Not to mention having in some cases a 30 round capacity is a bit excessive don't you think?

"Assault rifle" is just a term that the media came up with to scare civilians and to encourage the government to ban guns that look scary. You can have two guns: one that looks like a redneck rifle, and one that looks like something Master Chief would have strapped across his back. They both shoot the same rounds, but the fancy one would be banned in some places because of largely cosmetic reasons. I like the term because saying "fancy rifle" all the time would make me sound fruity.

LOL it's not the gun i'm scared of! It's the user. BTW I live in Australia where it is alot harder to obtain guns. Ever since we banned semi-auto rifles we have not many serious things happen. Port Arthur massacre (Australia) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This is what got semi-autos banned...

See the diff?
That's an unqualified claim. I'm not convinced that people on this forum are really all that more safety oriented than others. Sure, there are some people who are aware of safety and try to inform people, but they're mostly just the ones who actually post. How many people just visit the forum looking for some-odd laser, not concerned about safety, etc.? How many members even own goggles?

I also think it is dangerous to assume that people on here are better informed. If that were the case, we wouldn't need to tell people to wear safety goggles right? But that's not the case. With all the lasers being sold and information around, we're probably helping to introduce more people to lasers without safety than if we weren't around.

EDIT: Not to mention having in some cases a 30 round capacity is a bit excessive don't you think?
Easily be used as one in the same way as any hunting rifle? Or any gun for that matter?

Magazine size really doesn't really matter either. A trained person can easily eject a magazine and snap another into place in under two seconds. You just end up buying more magazines. The Sandy Hook killer didn't even spend all the rounds of his magazine before reloading sometimes.

These military-style "assault weapons" are just a red herring and you're falling for it. The politicians want some sort of scapegoat, scary-looking weapon that they can pin the blame on when it comes to gun violence, even though "assault weapons" feature in a very small number of gun-violence related crimes. They aren't dealing with the weapons used in most gun-related crimes (handguns), nor the causes of these crimes: poverty, drugs, and mental illness.

Sure, there were two high-profile massacres that occurred using AR-15 style weapons; however, these were very exceptional cases. If you lived in a white, middle-class, suburban neighborhood, would you really feel like you're going to get shot by an AR-15 the neighbor has in his gun collection? I doubt it. Why? Because gun-related crimes are usually in poorer areas or in home invasions, raring involving something more than a hand gun. What happened in those massacres then? The perpetrators had mental health problems, and they purposely sought out such weapons for the purpose of a massacre (one killing his mom). Even then, to date, only two incidents have really occurred involving such weapons (Sandy Hook and Aurora), and the killers also brought multiple firearms in order to maximize casualties.

The use of these weapons does not indicate a trend in general gun violence. You don't see AR-15s used in robberies, or gang wars, or home invasions. Who wants to use a hunting rifle? The weapon of choice for most gun-related crimes is the hand gun. Hand guns are far more deadly in most circumstances than these assault weapons because: they are far easier to conceal; they're nearly all semi-automatic; magazines are cheap, easy to use, and quick to reload; it is easier to fire on targets without aiming down the barrel; most gun use is at short distances (not hunting-range), where a hand-gun is more suited; and most importantly, they're cheap and easy to obtain.

You won't see any calls for hand gun bans though. You also won't see these "assault weapons" banned either, because: 1) the owners are legal white suburban hunters and enthusiasts, 2) "assault weapon" use is extremely rare in crimes, 3) bans did little good and gun-related crimes actually went down when the Clinton ban was lifted, 4) it'd be pointlessly removing rights from legal owners, not addressing the real cause of most gun-related crime -- hand guns in poverty zones.

Default Re: Kipkay is back guys D:

What a kewl guy. Kip Kay not only shows us poor laser safety
but even demos poor firearm safety.
Finger never touches the trigger unless you're ready to fire.
See end of the video.

What a turd this guy is...

As for making the AR15 is an assault rifle
claim, I agree that it is a military grade firearm,
But that alone makes it no more dangerous than
any other firearm.
To be fair, the AR15 is also used in both the
commonwealth games and Olympics for
target shooting.
It is also a very good deer hunting rifle and
a version of it is used as a varmit gun in .22 LR.
Actually it's a drop in conversion kit.

The problem with firearms is not with the tool, but the
Easy accessibility and people behind these massacres.
Banning on looks and potential is the lazy way to
deal with an issue like massacres or other misuse. Education rather than
confiscation always works better. It has been proven time and time again
a real way to solve the origins behind these kinds of
senseless crimes.
Finland, Sweden, Switzerland are great examples of very positive
firearms culture. Germany too.
None of these countries has nearly the problems with firearms.
Oh and don't forget Canada. We also have more ownership of Firearms per capita than
the US (smaller pop).

I feel like I am ranting....
